Go Stand In The Temple

Presented By Pastor Ralph Larson, recorded at the Gazeley Bible Fellowship meeting, England.

[00:00:01] Good morning everyone and a happy Sabbath to you all. It's good to be with you again. I saw from my passport as I was checking things out, getting ready to come, that I was here in 1991.

[00:00:14] And I guess that's getting to be quite a little while ago, five years ago. A lot of things change in five years, don't they?

[00:00:22] Things change here, things change in the States, things change in the political world, things change in the world in which we're living.

[00:00:29] And things are changing in the church, which we all are sensing and probably feeling more than any of the other changes going on all about us.

[00:00:37] Now I was asked to tell you a little bit about where I'm coming from. I'm coming from California and it's three o'clock in the morning there right now and I ought to be sound asleep.

[00:00:46] I wondered when I was enjoying the Sabbath school, and I did enjoy the Sabbath school.

[00:00:51] I always enjoy the exchanges of views when people open up and start talking together about a lesson. That's great.

[00:00:58] Sometimes I don't like to hear lectures for Sabbath school. I like to hear a good conversation, a good dialogue going on.

[00:01:05] And I like that, but I wondered, why am I sleepy? I'm having a good time. Why am I sleepy?

[00:01:09] Then it occurred to me, it's three o'clock in the morning, I ought to be sound asleep, minding my own business, listening to the coyotes howl, you know.

[00:01:17] In the little Cherry Valley where we live, Betty and I, the coyotes come down from the mountains every night, and then they stop on their way back and sneer at the dogs.

[00:01:26] And the dogs can't take that, so the dogs all open up, and so you have the coyotes howling and the dogs responding.

[00:01:31] And it's quite a noise for that quiet little valley, but we kind of like it there just the same. It's country living.

[00:01:39] Well, where am I coming from? You see, I was not born into the church like some of you were. I wish I had that privilege.

[00:01:47] But anybody says to me, I wish I had been able to come into the church from outside.

[00:01:52] I say, look, if you were born in the church, I'll trade my past for your past, trade a cross.

[00:01:57] I would much rather have never learned some of the things that I learned and heard some of the things that I heard

[00:02:03] and experienced some of the things that I experienced that will be a burden to me until the end of time, I suppose.

[00:02:09] But by the grace of God, I hope to overcome all of those things.

[00:02:13] I entered the ministry about 1925.

[00:02:21] Not 1925, 1940.

[00:02:24] I told you I was supposed to be asleep, didn't I?

[00:02:28] I was born in 1920.

[00:02:30] I entered the ministry in 1945.

[00:02:34] And my ministry of 40 years was divided about equally between evangelistic work, pastoral work, and college and seminary teaching.

[00:02:47] My last assignment before I left and before I retired was in the seminary of the Far East,

[00:02:53] serving the ministers and the ministerial students all the way from Japan and Korea clear down around Singapore

[00:02:59] and over as far as Pakistan and even Africa, eastern Africa and Bangladesh.

[00:03:04] And so we had a very interesting time out there with so many different cultures, so many different peoples coming together.

[00:03:11] But we had the privilege of teaching there in the seminary, and that was a very good time.

[00:03:17] My special work was to teach what they call the practical theological subjects.

[00:03:25] Evangelism, pastoral counseling, church administration, all that sort of thing.

[00:03:30] And as part of that program, about twice a year I would take a group of the young ministers.

[00:03:35] You see, the ministers who come there are ministers who are going after their master's and their doctor's degrees.

[00:03:40] They already have a background of experience behind them for the most part.

[00:03:45] A few of them are just out of college, but not so many.

[00:03:48] And I would take a dozen or 15 of them into some city of the Far East

[00:03:52] and conduct what they call an evangelistic crusade.

[00:03:55] Now in the States we call that an evangelistic effort.

[00:03:57] I don't know just what you call it here.

[00:03:59] But out there it's still very, very effective in some of the countries.

[00:04:04] Not all of them, but in the Philippines, in Indonesia.

[00:04:08] So just to sum all of that up, I had the wonderful privilege of seeing about 2,000 souls brought into the church

[00:04:14] during the time that I was there in the seminary in a four years' time.

[00:04:19] And I would like to mention that during my entire ministry I've had the privilege of bringing a few more than 5,000 persons

[00:04:26] into the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

[00:04:28] I sometimes have to point that out when somebody says to me or writes to me, as some do,

[00:04:34] Why don't you get out and win souls?

[00:04:36] What are you just bothering the church for?

[00:04:39] And I write back and say, Well, I've brought in about 5,000 souls.

[00:04:42] How many of you brought in?

[00:04:43] We don't hear any more about that.

[00:04:46] I don't want to boast or anything like that.

[00:04:48] But by the grace of God, I consider that a wonderful privilege.

[00:04:52] And I think it gives me a right to be concerned about those souls.

[00:04:56] What happens to them?

[00:04:58] I was talking to another ministry leader whom I met on a plane who does a very strong work for the Lord in many ways,

[00:05:05] bringing people into the church.

[00:05:07] I said to him as we were flying along together, I said, What do you do with them after they come into the church?

[00:05:13] Where do you send them to go to church?

[00:05:15] Where do they worship?

[00:05:17] He said, Oh, I don't concern myself about that.

[00:05:20] Well, I don't think that would work for me.

[00:05:24] Maybe it works for him.

[00:05:25] But for me, I'd have too much of a pastoral instinct.

[00:05:28] It just wouldn't work for me.

[00:05:29] To bring them into the church and send them to some place where they're going to hear falsehood taught and never warn them or anything about it,

[00:05:35] I would be concerned about that.

[00:05:38] And so we are living in a time when these changes are happening.

[00:05:43] And I bring you greetings from those who are aware of the changes in the States.

[00:05:47] A great many of the historic Seventh-day Adventists over there would be happy to learn of your progress here

[00:05:53] and will be happy to send you their greetings.

[00:05:55] And I'll take your greetings back to them.

[00:05:58] Now this morning, as I warned the people last night, I intend to unload lots of material on you while I'm here.

[00:06:04] I can't take time to protect you from my accent.

[00:06:09] I trust you can understand in spite of my language, my barbarian language from the States.

[00:06:17] I realize it's not quite like the King's English or the Queen's English, as you would call it here.

[00:06:22] And I admire the way you folks speak, but there's no use for me to try to imitate it.

[00:06:26] I couldn't do that.

[00:06:28] I've listened very carefully when I hear somebody pronounce the word water.

[00:06:34] How do you say that?

[00:06:36] Water.

[00:06:37] You see, I can't do that.

[00:06:38] That's not in my throat.

[00:06:40] I've tried.

[00:06:42] When I'm all by myself, I try to say water like you folks say water.

[00:06:45] But I can't do it.

[00:06:47] It just doesn't work for me.

[00:06:49] Well, we love each other in spite of all that, don't we?

[00:06:53] We're all part of the family of God.

[00:06:55] And we are aware that we're in a specially, particularly crucial time in the history of God's family.

[00:07:04] And so we're concerned one for another.

[00:07:06] We're trying to help one another all that we can.

[00:07:09] And during the time that I'm here, I will try to share with you all that you can endure.

[00:07:44] And I'm going to be talking about this night with a very heavy topic and going on just now.

[00:07:46] Would you like to turn with me now to the book of Acts, chapter 5?

[00:07:51] Acts, chapter 5.

[00:07:53] We will be looking at verses 17 to 20 in that chapter.

[00:08:00] Acts, chapter 5, verses 17 to 20.

[00:08:08] Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, which is the sect of the Sadducees,

[00:08:15] and were filled with indignation, and laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.

[00:08:23] But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,

[00:08:28] Go, stand, and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

[00:08:36] When we think of the temple, we think first of that wonderful temple that was built by Solomon

[00:08:42] about a thousand years before Christ was born.

[00:08:45] You remember that King David had gathered materials for it,

[00:08:49] but the Lord told him that he couldn't build it because he was a man of war,

[00:08:53] but his son could do it.

[00:08:55] So David spent an enormous amount of money gathering together all the materials

[00:08:59] and getting them ready to erect the temple,

[00:09:01] and when he was gone, Solomon built the temple,

[00:09:03] so we call that Solomon's Temple about a thousand years before Christ.

[00:09:08] Then we come to roughly the sixth century before Christ,

[00:09:11] when the temple was destroyed in the great Babylonian captivity,

[00:09:15] and seventy years after that, when the people came back under Ezra and Nehemiah,

[00:09:19] they rebuilt the temple.

[00:09:20] But this was, of course, not like the grandeur of the first temple.

[00:09:26] It says in the record that the older men who had seen the first temple

[00:09:29] wept when they saw this second temple,

[00:09:33] but you can hardly blame them because of the difference that was there.

[00:09:37] There were other differences beside the grandeur of the building.

[00:09:41] There was no holy Shekinah, no light from the glory of God on the mercy seat.

[00:09:45] The voice of God was not heard speaking to the priests,

[00:09:49] and the Ark of the Covenant, which had been secluded somewhere,

[00:09:52] we don't know where, by devout and faithful men, we are told,

[00:09:57] was not there.

[00:09:57] The mercy seat itself was not there anymore,

[00:10:00] which caused a curious thing.

[00:10:02] Years, centuries later, when the Roman general who was invading the city

[00:10:08] put back the curtain to see what it was back there that the Jews worshipped,

[00:10:12] he was astonished to find there was an empty room,

[00:10:14] nothing there at all,

[00:10:15] because the mercy seat was not there,

[00:10:17] had not been there since the sixth century B.C.

[00:10:20] Well, this was now rebuilt.

[00:10:22] We call that sometimes the second temple.

[00:10:24] This was rebuilt by King Herod.

[00:10:27] Beginning about 40 years before Christ,

[00:10:30] King Herod set about to rebuild the temple.

[00:10:32] It was a reconstruction of a massive scale.

[00:10:35] There was an enormous leveling project

[00:10:38] that leveled out a large area there on the top of the mountain,

[00:10:43] Mount Moriah.

[00:10:45] By filling in, they didn't do much grading

[00:10:47] because they didn't have the equipment to grade like we do today,

[00:10:49] no bulldozer or even slips to be pulled by horses.

[00:10:53] It was all done by hand, but they did a lot of filling in

[00:10:56] until they had a very large flat area.

[00:10:59] And there he rebuilt the temple,

[00:11:00] and it took 40 years to do that.

[00:11:02] It was 40 years in building, we're told in the scriptures,

[00:11:06] and it was really very, very remarkable itself.

[00:11:10] It was made of huge blocks of marble

[00:11:14] that were brought in all the way from the city of Rome

[00:11:16] on their sailing vessels of those days.

[00:11:19] That must have been quite a task.

[00:11:20] And many of those blocks weighed hundreds of tons.

[00:11:23] Many of those blocks weighed hundreds of tons.

[00:11:25] So this was the temple of Christ's time.

[00:11:28] But back to the second temple,

[00:11:30] the temple that was rebuilt by Ezra and Nehemiah.

[00:11:33] In spite of the things that were missing there,

[00:11:34] there was something very important that applied to it.

[00:11:37] It's found in the book of Haggai, chapter 2.

[00:11:42] Haggai, chapter 2, verse 7.

[00:11:45] These words were spoken by the prophet

[00:11:48] at the time when that temple was called into existence.

[00:11:52] I will shake all nations,

[00:11:54] and the desire of all nations shall come.

[00:11:58] And I will fill this house with glory,

[00:12:00] saith the Lord of hosts.

[00:12:02] We know that Jesus did come.

[00:12:04] We know that he came to the temple

[00:12:06] when he was a 12-year-old boy,

[00:12:08] a son of the law,

[00:12:09] because that's when every Jewish boy

[00:12:11] made his first trip to the temple

[00:12:13] when he was 12 years old,

[00:12:14] if he had not been there before.

[00:12:16] What we call the bar mitzvah in our time

[00:12:18] that we read about in the Jewish families

[00:12:20] taking place today,

[00:12:21] that happened even way back there.

[00:12:24] When a boy was 12 years old,

[00:12:26] he went through a special ceremony.

[00:12:27] He became a son of the law.

[00:12:28] He went to the temple for the first time

[00:12:30] and took part in the sacrifices there.

[00:12:32] Now ordinarily, a boy, a Jewish boy,

[00:12:34] would come back every year from that time on.

[00:12:37] The scripture is silent on that point.

[00:12:39] We don't know whether Jesus came back every year.

[00:12:41] It's not told to us.

[00:12:42] But we do know that he came back

[00:12:44] when he was in his ministry.

[00:12:45] He came three times to the temple.

[00:12:48] And it's interesting to notice,

[00:12:50] in John chapter 2, verses 13 to 16,

[00:12:53] that's that famous story

[00:12:55] of how he came into the temple

[00:12:56] and he found the money changers there

[00:12:59] and he found the people

[00:13:01] with the sacrificial animals

[00:13:03] gathered inside the temple court

[00:13:05] to sell them to the pilgrims who came.

[00:13:07] And remember, he took a scourge

[00:13:09] and drove them all out

[00:13:10] and he said,

[00:13:12] you shall not make my father's house

[00:13:14] a house of merchandise.

[00:13:16] merchandise.

[00:13:17] My father's house.

[00:13:19] Again he came

[00:13:20] and again he cleansed the temple

[00:13:22] probably in the third year

[00:13:23] of his ministry.

[00:13:24] We don't have a very clear record

[00:13:25] about that.

[00:13:26] And again he cleaned the place out

[00:13:28] and again he quoted a scripture

[00:13:31] which referred to the temple

[00:13:33] but he was quoting the father's words

[00:13:34] and still calling it

[00:13:35] my house.

[00:13:37] The father saying,

[00:13:39] do not make my house

[00:13:40] a house of merchandise.

[00:13:42] The third time he came

[00:13:43] to the temple

[00:13:44] was the last time

[00:13:45] when he said,

[00:13:46] your house is left

[00:13:48] until you're desolate.

[00:13:49] Now you can think

[00:13:51] a long, long time

[00:13:52] about that little

[00:13:53] series of three verses.

[00:13:55] My father's house,

[00:13:57] my father's house,

[00:13:58] your house

[00:14:00] is left until you're desolate.

[00:14:03] What happens to churches?

[00:14:05] What happens to organizations?

[00:14:07] What happens to ordinances

[00:14:10] that God has established

[00:14:11] when they're no longer doing

[00:14:14] what God established them to do?

[00:14:17] It's awesome to think about

[00:14:19] but in Desire of Ages,

[00:14:20] page 36,

[00:14:21] we have some thought-provoking lines.

[00:14:24] The ordinances,

[00:14:27] ceremonies,

[00:14:28] the ordinances

[00:14:30] which God himself

[00:14:31] had appointed,

[00:14:32] there's no question

[00:14:33] but God did appoint them.

[00:14:35] It was God's handiwork

[00:14:36] that was there,

[00:14:38] were made

[00:14:39] the means

[00:14:40] of blinding the mind

[00:14:42] and hardening the heart.

[00:14:45] God could do no more

[00:14:46] for man

[00:14:47] through these channels.

[00:14:48] The whole system

[00:14:50] must be swept away.

[00:14:52] That again

[00:14:52] is something

[00:14:53] that sort of sends

[00:14:54] chills down my back

[00:14:55] when I read that.

[00:14:56] This is what can happen

[00:14:59] to what God has ordained

[00:15:00] and to what God

[00:15:01] has established.

[00:15:01] I'm not saying

[00:15:02] it has to happen.

[00:15:04] I'm not saying

[00:15:05] that it even needs to happen.

[00:15:06] But it can happen.

[00:15:08] Do you see the point?

[00:15:09] I'm not trying to apply that

[00:15:11] in any way

[00:15:11] beyond just saying

[00:15:12] it makes me shudder

[00:15:14] when I think about it.

[00:15:15] Something that is ordained

[00:15:17] by God

[00:15:17] is not necessarily forever

[00:15:19] because everything

[00:15:20] that God does

[00:15:20] includes a provision

[00:15:22] for the response of man.

[00:15:24] Do you see the point?

[00:15:26] God always leaves

[00:15:28] a provision

[00:15:28] for the response of man

[00:15:29] and how man relates

[00:15:30] to what he's doing.

[00:15:32] And so the time came

[00:15:33] when the Lord

[00:15:34] had to give up

[00:15:35] on Jerusalem.

[00:15:36] The Lord had to give up

[00:15:37] on the organization

[00:15:39] that was there.

[00:15:39] They were being prostituted

[00:15:40] to wrong purposes.

[00:15:42] That which had been ordained

[00:15:43] for good purposes

[00:15:43] were being prostituted.

[00:15:45] And so we have

[00:15:46] this testimony

[00:15:47] of the angel.

[00:15:48] Here the priests,

[00:15:50] the Sadducees

[00:15:51] who represented

[00:15:51] the priesthood,

[00:15:52] the high priesthood,

[00:15:54] because the disciples

[00:15:56] were preaching

[00:15:56] about Christ,

[00:15:57] they laid hands

[00:15:58] on them it says

[00:15:59] and put them

[00:16:00] in the common prison

[00:16:01] and the angel came

[00:16:02] and let them out

[00:16:03] and said,

[00:16:04] go back to the temple.

[00:16:06] Go back to the temple.

[00:16:08] What they went to

[00:16:09] was actually

[00:16:09] Solomon's porch.

[00:16:11] The temple

[00:16:12] was within a courtyard

[00:16:14] and there was a wall

[00:16:15] around the courtyard

[00:16:17] and on the eastern end

[00:16:20] a few paces away

[00:16:21] from the wall

[00:16:22] of the courtyard

[00:16:23] there were columns

[00:16:24] and a roof over that,

[00:16:25] a gable roof

[00:16:27] shaped like this.

[00:16:28] And so this made

[00:16:30] sort of a protected area

[00:16:31] there where people met

[00:16:32] and that's where

[00:16:33] the disciples

[00:16:34] usually went

[00:16:35] to preach to the people.

[00:16:36] They went to

[00:16:36] Solomon's porch.

[00:16:38] But now what would

[00:16:39] you have done

[00:16:41] if you had been

[00:16:42] one of the apostles

[00:16:44] and you had

[00:16:45] been in prison

[00:16:46] for preaching

[00:16:47] about Jesus Christ

[00:16:48] and the word comes

[00:16:49] to you now,

[00:16:49] go right back

[00:16:50] to the temple

[00:16:51] and do it some more.

[00:16:52] What would you

[00:16:53] have thought?

[00:16:54] Has the Lord

[00:16:54] made a mistake here?

[00:16:56] Does he really

[00:16:56] know what he's doing?

[00:16:57] It would have been

[00:16:58] quite a challenge,

[00:16:59] would it not?

[00:17:00] And I don't believe

[00:17:01] actually

[00:17:02] that if that command

[00:17:03] had been given

[00:17:04] to the apostles

[00:17:05] when Jesus first

[00:17:06] called them,

[00:17:07] I don't believe

[00:17:07] they could have

[00:17:08] done it.

[00:17:09] But they had had

[00:17:10] three and a half years

[00:17:11] of watching

[00:17:12] the people's response

[00:17:13] to Jesus' ministry.

[00:17:15] In spite of all

[00:17:16] the wonderful things

[00:17:17] that Jesus did,

[00:17:18] there was a cold

[00:17:20] hardening of the heart,

[00:17:21] more and more

[00:17:22] bitter hostility

[00:17:23] that went on

[00:17:23] for three and one

[00:17:24] half years.

[00:17:25] They saw that hostility,

[00:17:26] they felt that hostility,

[00:17:28] they knew all about

[00:17:29] that hostility,

[00:17:30] and they reached it,

[00:17:32] they saw it finally

[00:17:33] reach its culmination

[00:17:35] in the crucifixion.

[00:17:36] So by this time

[00:17:36] they had no illusions

[00:17:38] left.

[00:17:40] And so when the Lord's

[00:17:42] message came to them

[00:17:43] through the angel

[00:17:43] to go back

[00:17:44] and preach to the people,

[00:17:45] they went without

[00:17:46] any hesitation.

[00:17:47] They went back there.

[00:17:49] Now,

[00:17:50] this causes us

[00:17:52] to think about

[00:17:53] some things.

[00:17:55] causes us to think

[00:17:56] about their sermons.

[00:17:57] I wish we had time

[00:17:58] to dwell on that

[00:17:59] a little bit,

[00:17:59] but we don't.

[00:18:01] We have seven

[00:18:04] reports

[00:18:04] of sermons

[00:18:06] in the book of Acts.

[00:18:07] As a teacher

[00:18:08] of preaching

[00:18:09] in the seminary,

[00:18:09] I was very interested

[00:18:10] in this.

[00:18:11] I analyzed them all.

[00:18:12] And even though

[00:18:13] some of them

[00:18:14] are quite short,

[00:18:15] one of them

[00:18:15] is only a few lines,

[00:18:16] nevertheless,

[00:18:16] you get a very clear

[00:18:18] insight into what

[00:18:18] they preached

[00:18:19] and how they preached.

[00:18:20] Just briefly,

[00:18:22] let me say

[00:18:23] that every one

[00:18:24] of the sermons

[00:18:25] was Bible-based.

[00:18:26] Every one of the sermons

[00:18:27] was focused

[00:18:28] on the fulfilling

[00:18:29] of prophecy,

[00:18:30] that the prophecies

[00:18:32] had been fulfilled

[00:18:32] and what had happened

[00:18:33] to Jesus Christ.

[00:18:34] They were all

[00:18:35] Christ-centered.

[00:18:36] They all spoke

[00:18:37] about the resurrection

[00:18:38] with great appeal.

[00:18:39] They all emphasized

[00:18:40] the judgment,

[00:18:41] very confrontational.

[00:18:42] You have crucified

[00:18:44] the Son of God!

[00:18:46] That was the way

[00:18:46] it was.

[00:18:48] But they didn't

[00:18:49] leave it there.

[00:18:49] They all went,

[00:18:50] they went on

[00:18:51] to appeal for repentance

[00:18:52] and to assure them

[00:18:53] that God would forgive

[00:18:54] if there was

[00:18:55] a willing repentance.

[00:18:58] But this preaching

[00:19:00] was certainly

[00:19:00] going to be dangerous,

[00:19:02] a dangerous thing to do.

[00:19:03] And we just know

[00:19:05] that they did it

[00:19:06] and we know

[00:19:07] that they succeeded

[00:19:08] because of what they did

[00:19:09] and we want to go on

[00:19:10] from there

[00:19:11] to seeing

[00:19:11] what lesson there is

[00:19:13] in that experience

[00:19:14] for our time

[00:19:15] and there is

[00:19:16] a very particular

[00:19:17] lesson for us.

[00:19:18] In our time

[00:19:19] there is a very

[00:19:20] particular lesson

[00:19:21] from this experience.

[00:19:22] In order to find out

[00:19:24] about it

[00:19:24] we turn to the book

[00:19:26] Testimonies to Ministers

[00:19:27] page 69.

[00:19:29] I will pick up

[00:19:30] a few lines

[00:19:30] from the chapter

[00:19:31] that we find here.

[00:19:34] This page,

[00:19:35] page 69,

[00:19:36] at the top of the page

[00:19:37] above the center

[00:19:38] you have

[00:19:39] this quotation

[00:19:40] from Scripture

[00:19:41] which you'll

[00:19:41] quickly recognize.

[00:19:43] These things

[00:19:44] have I spoken

[00:19:45] unto you

[00:19:45] that ye should

[00:19:46] not be offended.

[00:19:47] They shall put you

[00:19:48] out of the synagogues.

[00:19:50] Did I hear somebody

[00:19:51] say they had been

[00:19:52] disfellowshipped

[00:19:52] this morning?

[00:19:54] They shall put you

[00:19:55] out of the synagogues.

[00:19:57] Yea,

[00:19:58] the time cometh

[00:19:58] that whosoever

[00:19:59] killeth you

[00:20:00] will think

[00:20:00] that he doeth

[00:20:01] God's service.

[00:20:02] We haven't seen

[00:20:03] the worst of it yet.

[00:20:04] And these things

[00:20:06] will they do

[00:20:06] unto you

[00:20:07] because they

[00:20:07] have not known

[00:20:09] the Father

[00:20:09] nor me.

[00:20:11] But these things

[00:20:12] have I told you

[00:20:13] that when the time

[00:20:14] shall come

[00:20:14] ye may remember

[00:20:15] that I told you

[00:20:16] of them.

[00:20:17] Then she goes on

[00:20:18] to quote Acts

[00:20:19] chapter 5

[00:20:19] verse 17.

[00:20:21] Right after that one

[00:20:22] the angels

[00:20:23] command to go

[00:20:24] stand in the temple

[00:20:25] and preach to the people

[00:20:26] all the words

[00:20:26] of this life

[00:20:27] and follows this comment.

[00:20:29] Listen to it

[00:20:29] carefully.

[00:20:32] We see here

[00:20:33] she writes

[00:20:35] we see here

[00:20:36] that the men

[00:20:37] in authority

[00:20:38] are not always

[00:20:40] to be obeyed.

[00:20:45] Are you

[00:20:46] internalizing that?

[00:20:48] Are you

[00:20:48] wrapping your head

[00:20:49] around that?

[00:20:50] Are you taking

[00:20:50] that very deep

[00:20:51] into your consciousness?

[00:20:54] I have been

[00:20:55] called to

[00:20:56] three separate

[00:20:57] meetings

[00:20:57] one in the

[00:20:58] General Conference

[00:20:58] office

[00:21:01] ostensibly

[00:21:02] called for the

[00:21:02] purpose of seeing

[00:21:03] if there was a way

[00:21:04] to bring the

[00:21:04] independents

[00:21:05] or dissidents

[00:21:06] or whatever you

[00:21:06] want to call them

[00:21:07] and the organization

[00:21:07] together.

[00:21:11] And in each

[00:21:12] one of those

[00:21:13] we were warned

[00:21:14] at the beginning

[00:21:15] we will discuss

[00:21:16] no theology

[00:21:17] here.

[00:21:18] Well the whole

[00:21:19] problem is about

[00:21:20] theology.

[00:21:22] So how are they

[00:21:23] going to solve it?

[00:21:25] Authority!

[00:21:26] Authority!

[00:21:27] Authority!

[00:21:30] Feed that to the birds.

[00:21:32] That doesn't work.

[00:21:34] You don't solve

[00:21:35] a theological problem

[00:21:36] by an exercise

[00:21:37] of church authority.

[00:21:39] You don't solve

[00:21:40] the problem

[00:21:41] that you and I

[00:21:41] face wherever we are

[00:21:42] by exercises

[00:21:43] of church authority.

[00:21:45] We'll talk a little

[00:21:46] bit more about that

[00:21:47] before the day

[00:21:47] closes but just

[00:21:48] to put in that

[00:21:49] point.

[00:21:50] When they call us

[00:21:51] together to discuss

[00:21:52] a theological

[00:21:53] problem and they

[00:21:54] say we will not

[00:21:55] discuss theology

[00:21:55] we have to wonder

[00:21:56] why and shall I

[00:21:57] tell you why?

[00:21:59] Again I don't want

[00:22:00] you to get the

[00:22:01] wrong idea.

[00:22:01] I'm not trying to

[00:22:02] boast or brag

[00:22:03] or anything like

[00:22:03] that but I know

[00:22:04] why they will not

[00:22:05] discuss theology

[00:22:06] with us.

[00:22:07] At least I think

[00:22:07] I know

[00:22:08] Brother Cameron.

[00:22:10] They know very

[00:22:11] well that the

[00:22:12] evidence is all

[00:22:13] on our side.

[00:22:16] All of it.

[00:22:19] We have a young

[00:22:21] man in Loma Linda

[00:22:22] very dedicated

[00:22:23] historic

[00:22:24] Seventh-day Adventist

[00:22:24] young man.

[00:22:25] He called me in

[00:22:26] a little bit of

[00:22:26] excitement one day

[00:22:27] on the telephone.

[00:22:28] He said Elder

[00:22:29] Larson, Dr.

[00:22:30] Larson,

[00:22:31] something wonderful

[00:22:32] has happened.

[00:22:33] What is it?

[00:22:34] What is it?

[00:22:36] The president

[00:22:37] of the Potomac

[00:22:38] Conference,

[00:22:38] has proposed

[00:22:39] to Colin Standish

[00:22:40] that he have a

[00:22:42] discussion about

[00:22:43] the nature of

[00:22:43] Christ in front

[00:22:44] of all the

[00:22:44] ministers of the

[00:22:45] conference.

[00:22:46] And a pastor

[00:22:47] named Cicada

[00:22:49] Sequeira to you

[00:22:51] is going to be

[00:22:53] discussing with

[00:22:54] Colin Standish.

[00:22:55] Oh it's going to

[00:22:56] be wonderful,

[00:22:57] wonderful,

[00:22:57] wonderful.

[00:22:59] I said Kevin

[00:23:00] that will never

[00:23:01] happen.

[00:23:02] He said he's

[00:23:03] got it in a

[00:23:03] letter.

[00:23:04] The president

[00:23:04] wrote to him

[00:23:05] it's in a

[00:23:05] letter.

[00:23:06] Kevin that

[00:23:07] will not

[00:23:07] happen.

[00:23:08] What do you

[00:23:09] mean it

[00:23:09] won't happen?

[00:23:11] I said listen

[00:23:12] Kevin,

[00:23:13] that president

[00:23:15] apparently has

[00:23:16] trusted material

[00:23:17] that has been

[00:23:18] told to him

[00:23:19] and he thinks

[00:23:19] it's so clear

[00:23:20] he's going to

[00:23:20] call the

[00:23:20] conference.

[00:23:22] Those people

[00:23:23] who are around

[00:23:23] him will block

[00:23:24] that.

[00:23:25] They will not

[00:23:25] let it happen.

[00:23:26] I guarantee

[00:23:27] to you that

[00:23:27] will not

[00:23:28] happen.

[00:23:29] A couple of

[00:23:30] weeks later

[00:23:30] he called

[00:23:30] back.

[00:23:31] He said

[00:23:31] sorry,

[00:23:32] sorry,

[00:23:33] Elder Larson,

[00:23:33] they called

[00:23:34] the whole

[00:23:34] thing off.

[00:23:36] I knew

[00:23:36] that would

[00:23:37] happen because

[00:23:38] they know

[00:23:38] folks,

[00:23:40] don't go out

[00:23:41] of here patting

[00:23:41] yourself on

[00:23:42] the back.

[00:23:43] Go out of

[00:23:43] here in

[00:23:44] humility and

[00:23:44] thankfulness to

[00:23:45] the Lord but

[00:23:46] just bear in

[00:23:46] mind they

[00:23:48] know very

[00:23:49] well that

[00:23:50] when the

[00:23:50] Bible and

[00:23:51] the spirit of

[00:23:51] prophecy are

[00:23:52] appealed to

[00:23:52] as the

[00:23:53] authority we

[00:23:54] cannot lose

[00:23:56] because the

[00:23:57] evidence is

[00:23:58] all on our

[00:23:58] side.

[00:23:59] We're standing

[00:23:59] for the

[00:24:00] faith that was

[00:24:00] once delivered

[00:24:01] to the

[00:24:01] saints and

[00:24:02] that's

[00:24:03] something we

[00:24:03] must keep on

[00:24:04] doing.

[00:24:04] But let's

[00:24:04] return to

[00:24:05] our evidence

[00:24:05] here.

[00:24:07] We see

[00:24:08] here that

[00:24:08] the men in

[00:24:09] authority are

[00:24:10] not always to

[00:24:11] be obeyed even

[00:24:12] though they may

[00:24:13] profess to be

[00:24:14] teachers of

[00:24:15] Bible doctrine.

[00:24:15] Further down

[00:24:16] on the same

[00:24:16] page,

[00:24:19] because those

[00:24:21] who were

[00:24:22] once depositaries

[00:24:23] of truth have

[00:24:24] become unfaithful

[00:24:26] to their

[00:24:26] sacred trust.

[00:24:28] Are you

[00:24:29] taking all this

[00:24:30] to your

[00:24:30] hearts?

[00:24:32] The Lord

[00:24:33] chose others

[00:24:35] who would

[00:24:36] receive the

[00:24:36] bright beams

[00:24:37] of the

[00:24:37] sun of

[00:24:38] righteousness

[00:24:38] and would

[00:24:39] advocate

[00:24:39] truths that

[00:24:40] were not in

[00:24:41] accordance with

[00:24:42] the ideas of

[00:24:42] the religious

[00:24:43] leaders.

[00:24:44] If you go

[00:24:45] through this

[00:24:46] chapter carefully,

[00:24:48] chapter begins

[00:24:49] on page 69.

[00:24:51] That's

[00:24:53] actually not

[00:24:54] the beginning

[00:24:54] page, but

[00:24:54] it's very

[00:24:55] close to it.

[00:24:56] But if you

[00:24:57] start there at

[00:24:58] the beginning

[00:24:58] of the chapter

[00:24:59] as you find

[00:24:59] it, and

[00:24:59] take a red

[00:25:00] pencil in your

[00:25:00] hand and

[00:25:01] draw a circle

[00:25:01] around the

[00:25:02] word truth

[00:25:02] every time

[00:25:03] you find

[00:25:03] it, it's

[00:25:04] just scattered

[00:25:05] all through

[00:25:05] sometimes three

[00:25:06] or four times

[00:25:06] on a single

[00:25:07] page.

[00:25:08] Truth is

[00:25:09] the authority.

[00:25:10] Truth is

[00:25:11] the authority.

[00:25:13] Further now,

[00:25:14] I'm on page

[00:25:15] 70, and I'm

[00:25:16] reading on.

[00:25:17] verse 30.

[00:25:18] The Lord

[00:25:18] shows others

[00:25:20] who would

[00:25:21] advocate truths

[00:25:22] not in

[00:25:23] accordance with

[00:25:23] the ideas

[00:25:24] of the

[00:25:24] religious

[00:25:24] leaders,

[00:25:26] and then

[00:25:27] these leaders

[00:25:28] in the

[00:25:28] blindness of

[00:25:29] their minds

[00:25:29] give full

[00:25:30] sway to

[00:25:32] what is

[00:25:32] supposed to

[00:25:33] be righteous

[00:25:34] indignation

[00:25:35] against the

[00:25:35] ones who

[00:25:36] have set

[00:25:36] aside their

[00:25:37] cherished

[00:25:37] fables.

[00:25:38] They act

[00:25:40] like men

[00:25:41] who have

[00:25:41] lost their

[00:25:42] reason.

[00:25:45] We'll say

[00:25:45] more about

[00:25:46] that before

[00:25:46] the day is

[00:25:47] over.

[00:25:48] Further down,

[00:25:49] the Holy

[00:25:50] Spirit will

[00:25:51] from time

[00:25:51] to time

[00:25:52] reveal the

[00:25:53] truth,

[00:25:53] see the

[00:25:54] word truth

[00:25:54] again,

[00:25:55] through its

[00:25:56] own chosen

[00:25:56] agencies,

[00:25:57] and no

[00:25:58] man, not

[00:25:58] even a

[00:25:59] priest or

[00:25:59] a ruler,

[00:26:00] has a

[00:26:00] right to

[00:26:00] say,

[00:26:01] you shall

[00:26:02] not give

[00:26:02] publicity to

[00:26:03] your opinions

[00:26:04] because I

[00:26:04] do not

[00:26:04] believe them.

[00:26:06] God

[00:26:07] impressed

[00:26:07] his service

[00:26:08] to speak

[00:26:08] the truth

[00:26:09] irrespective of

[00:26:10] what men

[00:26:10] have taken

[00:26:11] for granted

[00:26:11] as truth.

[00:26:13] Page 81.

[00:26:16] Unless the

[00:26:17] truth is

[00:26:17] enthroned in

[00:26:18] the heart

[00:26:19] and a

[00:26:20] thorough

[00:26:20] transition

[00:26:21] takes place

[00:26:21] from darkness

[00:26:22] to light,

[00:26:24] those who

[00:26:24] handle sacred

[00:26:25] responsibilities

[00:26:26] are ministers

[00:26:27] of darkness,

[00:26:28] blind leaders

[00:26:29] of the

[00:26:29] blind.

[00:26:31] Page 91.

[00:26:33] I call

[00:26:34] upon God's

[00:26:34] people to

[00:26:35] open their

[00:26:35] eyes.

[00:26:36] When you

[00:26:37] sanction or

[00:26:38] carry out

[00:26:39] the decisions

[00:26:40] of men

[00:26:40] who, as

[00:26:42] you know,

[00:26:43] are not

[00:26:43] in harmony

[00:26:43] with truth

[00:26:44] and righteousness,

[00:26:46] you weaken

[00:26:47] your own

[00:26:47] faith and

[00:26:48] lose your

[00:26:48] relish for

[00:26:49] communion

[00:26:49] with God.

[00:26:51] On that

[00:26:51] page you

[00:26:52] find the

[00:26:52] word truth

[00:26:53] three times.

[00:26:54] Page 109.

[00:26:55] And this

[00:26:56] is the

[00:26:56] heaviest

[00:26:57] line of

[00:26:57] all.

[00:27:00] The Jews

[00:27:02] perished

[00:27:02] as a

[00:27:03] nation

[00:27:03] because...

[00:27:04] What do

[00:27:05] you think

[00:27:05] is going

[00:27:06] to follow

[00:27:06] that?

[00:27:07] The Jews

[00:27:08] perished

[00:27:09] as a

[00:27:10] nation

[00:27:10] because

[00:27:11] they were

[00:27:12] drawn

[00:27:13] from the

[00:27:13] truth

[00:27:14] of the

[00:27:14] Bible

[00:27:14] by

[00:27:15] their

[00:27:16] rulers,

[00:27:17] their

[00:27:17] priests,

[00:27:17] and their

[00:27:18] elders.

[00:27:22] Is there

[00:27:22] anything new

[00:27:23] under the

[00:27:23] sun?

[00:27:24] Nothing

[00:27:25] new under

[00:27:25] the sun.

[00:27:27] Strange

[00:27:28] as it may

[00:27:28] seem,

[00:27:29] most of the

[00:27:30] apostasies that

[00:27:31] have taken

[00:27:31] place in the

[00:27:32] history of

[00:27:33] the church

[00:27:33] have been

[00:27:33] created by

[00:27:34] church

[00:27:34] leaders,

[00:27:35] not by

[00:27:35] the people.

[00:27:37] I'm not

[00:27:38] saying the

[00:27:38] people have

[00:27:39] always been

[00:27:39] without fault.

[00:27:40] I'm not

[00:27:40] saying the

[00:27:40] people have

[00:27:41] always been

[00:27:41] right on

[00:27:42] every point.

[00:27:42] I'm not

[00:27:42] saying the

[00:27:43] people have

[00:27:43] always been

[00:27:43] perfect,

[00:27:45] but I'm

[00:27:45] just simply

[00:27:46] pointing out

[00:27:46] as a

[00:27:47] historical fact

[00:27:47] that most

[00:27:48] of the

[00:27:48] apostasies

[00:27:49] that have

[00:27:49] taken place

[00:27:50] in the

[00:27:50] church have

[00:27:51] been created

[00:27:52] by church

[00:27:52] leaders,

[00:27:54] not by

[00:27:54] the people.

[00:27:55] And that's

[00:27:55] the way it's

[00:27:56] happening in

[00:27:56] our time

[00:27:56] too.

[00:27:57] Page 110.

[00:27:59] If a

[00:27:59] brother is

[00:28:01] teaching error,

[00:28:02] those who

[00:28:03] are in

[00:28:03] responsible

[00:28:04] positions ought

[00:28:05] to know

[00:28:05] it, and

[00:28:07] if he is

[00:28:07] teaching

[00:28:07] truth,

[00:28:08] they ought

[00:28:08] to take

[00:28:09] their stand

[00:28:09] at his

[00:28:10] side.

[00:28:12] If that

[00:28:12] has happened,

[00:28:13] in our

[00:28:13] recent

[00:28:14] history,

[00:28:14] it has

[00:28:14] not been

[00:28:14] made

[00:28:15] known to

[00:28:15] me.

[00:28:17] Page 366.

[00:28:21] 366.

[00:28:23] Organizations,

[00:28:25] institutions,

[00:28:26] unless kept

[00:28:27] by the

[00:28:28] power of

[00:28:28] God,

[00:28:29] will work

[00:28:29] under

[00:28:30] Satan's

[00:28:31] dictation

[00:28:32] to bring

[00:28:33] men under

[00:28:34] the control

[00:28:35] of men,

[00:28:37] and fraud

[00:28:38] and guile

[00:28:40] will bear

[00:28:41] the semblance

[00:28:42] of zeal

[00:28:42] for truth

[00:28:43] and for

[00:28:44] the advancement

[00:28:45] of the

[00:28:45] kingdom

[00:28:46] of God.

[00:28:48] Well,

[00:28:49] the problem

[00:28:50] of the

[00:28:50] relationship

[00:28:51] between

[00:28:52] authority

[00:28:52] and

[00:28:53] position

[00:28:53] presses

[00:28:54] itself

[00:28:55] upon

[00:28:55] us.

[00:28:56] We are

[00:28:56] all

[00:28:57] dealing

[00:28:57] with

[00:28:57] the

[00:28:57] same

[00:28:58] problem

[00:28:58] whether we're

[00:28:58] living here

[00:28:59] in England

[00:28:59] or over

[00:29:00] in the

[00:29:00] States

[00:29:00] or over

[00:29:00] in the

[00:29:01] continent

[00:29:01] of Europe

[00:29:01] or wherever

[00:29:03] we may be,

[00:29:04] we're all

[00:29:04] dealing with

[00:29:04] different aspects

[00:29:05] of the very

[00:29:06] same problem,

[00:29:06] the relationship

[00:29:07] between position.

[00:29:09] We,

[00:29:09] like the

[00:29:10] apostles,

[00:29:10] have been

[00:29:10] trained to

[00:29:11] respect

[00:29:11] position.

[00:29:13] It's

[00:29:13] just

[00:29:14] in us.

[00:29:15] And

[00:29:15] Seventh-day

[00:29:16] Adventists,

[00:29:16] I believe,

[00:29:17] probably more

[00:29:18] than any

[00:29:19] other church

[00:29:19] I can think

[00:29:20] of,

[00:29:20] tend to be

[00:29:21] very,

[00:29:21] very loyal

[00:29:22] to those

[00:29:23] who occupy

[00:29:24] positions of

[00:29:25] leadership

[00:29:25] among them.

[00:29:27] And here's

[00:29:28] our danger.

[00:29:29] Loyalty is

[00:29:30] a virtue,

[00:29:31] but blind

[00:29:32] loyalty is

[00:29:33] a vice.

[00:29:35] We must

[00:29:35] never confuse

[00:29:36] those two.

[00:29:37] Loyalty is

[00:29:38] a virtue,

[00:29:38] but blind

[00:29:39] loyalty is

[00:29:39] a vice.

[00:29:41] We have

[00:29:41] some examples

[00:29:42] in the Bible

[00:29:43] about the

[00:29:43] conflict,

[00:29:44] the tension

[00:29:44] between position

[00:29:45] and authority,

[00:29:46] do we not?

[00:29:48] What about

[00:29:49] in the time

[00:29:49] of the high

[00:29:50] priest Caiaphas?

[00:29:52] He had

[00:29:52] the position,

[00:29:54] he had

[00:29:54] the robes,

[00:29:55] he had

[00:29:55] the respect,

[00:29:56] he had

[00:29:56] the authority

[00:29:58] insofar as

[00:29:59] human vision

[00:30:00] was concerned,

[00:30:00] but did he

[00:30:01] have authority

[00:30:01] from God?

[00:30:03] A few

[00:30:03] comments on

[00:30:04] that.

[00:30:05] Youth

[00:30:05] Instructor,

[00:30:06] May 31,

[00:30:07] 1900,

[00:30:08] Caiaphas

[00:30:09] was not

[00:30:10] accepted by

[00:30:10] God as

[00:30:11] the high

[00:30:11] priest,

[00:30:12] he was

[00:30:12] unworthy.

[00:30:13] He was

[00:30:14] there,

[00:30:15] he was

[00:30:15] in the

[00:30:15] office,

[00:30:16] but as

[00:30:17] far as

[00:30:17] God was

[00:30:18] concerned,

[00:30:19] the chair

[00:30:19] was empty,

[00:30:19] he wasn't

[00:30:20] there.

[00:30:21] The

[00:30:21] Review and

[00:30:22] Herald,

[00:30:22] June 12,

[00:30:23] 1900,

[00:30:24] virtually,

[00:30:26] Caiaphas

[00:30:26] was no

[00:30:27] high priest,

[00:30:28] he had

[00:30:29] no authority

[00:30:30] from heaven,

[00:30:31] he had

[00:30:31] not one

[00:30:32] ray of

[00:30:33] light from

[00:30:33] God,

[00:30:34] and yet

[00:30:35] people were

[00:30:37] submitting to

[00:30:38] his authority.

[00:30:40] youth

[00:30:40] instructor,

[00:30:42] June 7,

[00:30:43] 1900,

[00:30:44] though clothed

[00:30:45] with a

[00:30:46] beautiful dress,

[00:30:46] he was

[00:30:47] acting under

[00:30:48] the inspiration

[00:30:48] of Satan.

[00:30:49] There's one

[00:30:50] example of

[00:30:51] the tension

[00:30:51] between position

[00:30:52] and authority,

[00:30:53] they don't always

[00:30:54] go together.

[00:30:55] And then you

[00:30:56] think of the

[00:30:56] tragic experience

[00:30:57] of David the

[00:30:58] king and his

[00:30:58] general Joab,

[00:31:00] general of the

[00:31:00] army Joab,

[00:31:01] and the

[00:31:01] experience with

[00:31:02] Uriah the

[00:31:03] Hittite in

[00:31:03] Bathsheba,

[00:31:04] you know the

[00:31:05] story,

[00:31:06] how we shrink

[00:31:07] and shudder

[00:31:08] when we read

[00:31:09] the story,

[00:31:09] we wish it

[00:31:10] were not in

[00:31:11] the Bible

[00:31:11] sometimes,

[00:31:11] we wish we

[00:31:12] didn't have

[00:31:12] to read that,

[00:31:14] or we wish

[00:31:14] we could

[00:31:15] rewrite it

[00:31:15] a little bit,

[00:31:17] how would we

[00:31:17] rewrite it

[00:31:18] if we had

[00:31:19] the privilege

[00:31:19] of doing it?

[00:31:20] Don't you

[00:31:20] think we

[00:31:20] would have

[00:31:21] Joab,

[00:31:23] when David

[00:31:24] tells the

[00:31:25] general of

[00:31:25] his army,

[00:31:26] Joab,

[00:31:26] you take

[00:31:27] this man

[00:31:27] Uriah,

[00:31:29] and put him

[00:31:29] in the

[00:31:30] forefront of

[00:31:30] the battle

[00:31:31] and then

[00:31:31] withdraw from

[00:31:32] him so he

[00:31:32] will be slain

[00:31:33] and then I

[00:31:33] can marry

[00:31:34] his wife.

[00:31:36] Oh,

[00:31:36] it's just

[00:31:37] horrifying.

[00:31:39] But wouldn't

[00:31:39] it be a

[00:31:40] delightful story

[00:31:40] if Joab

[00:31:41] had said,

[00:31:42] God forbid

[00:31:44] that I do

[00:31:45] such a thing

[00:31:46] as this.

[00:31:47] Like the

[00:31:48] three Hebrews

[00:31:49] you know,

[00:31:49] before the

[00:31:49] king in the

[00:31:50] days of the

[00:31:51] fiery furnace,

[00:31:52] like Daniel

[00:31:53] and the

[00:31:54] lion's den,

[00:31:54] it's just a

[00:31:55] different kind

[00:31:55] of a story.

[00:31:56] Oh,

[00:31:57] how we wish

[00:31:57] it could

[00:31:58] have been

[00:31:58] different.

[00:31:58] But notice

[00:31:59] the comment

[00:32:00] on that.

[00:32:02] David's

[00:32:02] record before

[00:32:03] as a ruler

[00:32:04] had been

[00:32:04] such as few

[00:32:05] monarchs have

[00:32:06] ever equaled.

[00:32:06] It was

[00:32:07] written of him

[00:32:07] that he executed

[00:32:08] judgment and

[00:32:09] justice upon

[00:32:09] all his

[00:32:10] people.

[00:32:11] His integrity

[00:32:12] had won the

[00:32:13] confidence and

[00:32:14] fealty of the

[00:32:14] nation.

[00:32:15] But as he

[00:32:16] departed from

[00:32:17] God,

[00:32:18] yielded himself

[00:32:18] to the

[00:32:19] wicked one,

[00:32:19] he became

[00:32:20] for the time

[00:32:21] the agent

[00:32:21] of Satan.

[00:32:22] Yet he

[00:32:23] still held

[00:32:24] the position

[00:32:24] and authority

[00:32:25] that God

[00:32:25] had given

[00:32:26] him.

[00:32:27] And because

[00:32:28] of this

[00:32:28] claim to

[00:32:29] obedience,

[00:32:29] now watch

[00:32:29] this,

[00:32:31] because of

[00:32:33] it would

[00:32:33] imperil

[00:32:34] the soul

[00:32:35] of any

[00:32:36] who should

[00:32:36] yield to

[00:32:37] it.

[00:32:38] He still

[00:32:39] was the

[00:32:40] king of

[00:32:40] Israel.

[00:32:41] There was

[00:32:42] no outward

[00:32:43] indication that

[00:32:43] anything had

[00:32:44] changed,

[00:32:44] but as far

[00:32:45] as his

[00:32:46] commands were

[00:32:46] concerned,

[00:32:47] it was

[00:32:47] suicide to

[00:32:48] obey them,

[00:32:49] spiritual

[00:32:49] suicide to

[00:32:50] obey them.

[00:32:52] From

[00:32:53] sketches to

[00:32:54] the life of

[00:32:54] Paul,

[00:32:55] page 279,

[00:32:56] we read

[00:32:56] these words,

[00:32:57] God has

[00:32:58] made his

[00:32:59] people the

[00:32:59] depositors of

[00:33:01] his law.

[00:33:02] They must

[00:33:02] uphold the

[00:33:03] claims of

[00:33:04] that

[00:33:04] downtrodden

[00:33:05] law,

[00:33:06] against the

[00:33:07] opposition of

[00:33:07] ministers of

[00:33:08] the gospel,

[00:33:09] against men

[00:33:09] of learning

[00:33:10] position and

[00:33:10] authority.

[00:33:13] Our brother

[00:33:14] teaching the

[00:33:15] Sabbath school

[00:33:15] lesson this

[00:33:16] morning made

[00:33:16] reference to

[00:33:17] the chapter

[00:33:17] near the

[00:33:18] end of the

[00:33:19] book,

[00:33:19] Great

[00:33:19] Controversy,

[00:33:20] entitled,

[00:33:21] The Scriptures

[00:33:21] Are Safeguard.

[00:33:23] There are about

[00:33:24] ten pages in

[00:33:25] that chapter,

[00:33:25] and on those

[00:33:26] ten pages there

[00:33:27] are eight

[00:33:27] warnings against

[00:33:29] our danger

[00:33:30] of being

[00:33:30] deceived.

[00:33:32] And those

[00:33:33] warnings are

[00:33:33] focused against

[00:33:34] false leaders,

[00:33:35] false theologians,

[00:33:37] false ministers.

[00:33:38] That's our

[00:33:39] danger.

[00:33:40] Almost one for

[00:33:41] every page.

[00:33:44] The tension

[00:33:45] between authority

[00:33:47] and truth,

[00:33:50] the tension

[00:33:50] between position

[00:33:51] and authority,

[00:33:53] authority has

[00:33:54] to be based

[00:33:54] on truth.

[00:33:56] We had a

[00:33:59] good vice

[00:34:01] president of

[00:34:01] the general

[00:34:02] conference who

[00:34:03] looked at

[00:34:04] what the

[00:34:04] independents

[00:34:05] are doing,

[00:34:05] and he

[00:34:05] came up

[00:34:06] with an

[00:34:06] idea.

[00:34:08] He said,

[00:34:09] they cannot

[00:34:09] possibly be

[00:34:10] right because

[00:34:11] they're violating

[00:34:12] their ordination,

[00:34:13] their baptismal

[00:34:14] vow.

[00:34:16] Their baptismal

[00:34:17] vow was that

[00:34:18] they would be

[00:34:18] loyal to the

[00:34:19] church and

[00:34:19] support the

[00:34:20] church with

[00:34:20] their tithes

[00:34:21] and their

[00:34:21] offerings.

[00:34:22] They're violating

[00:34:23] their baptismal

[00:34:24] vow.

[00:34:24] They have to

[00:34:25] be wrong.

[00:34:26] Well, now,

[00:34:27] folks,

[00:34:28] is the

[00:34:29] baptismal

[00:34:30] vow a

[00:34:30] single vow,

[00:34:31] or is it

[00:34:31] a double

[00:34:32] vow?

[00:34:33] Doesn't the

[00:34:34] church make

[00:34:34] a vow that

[00:34:36] the individual

[00:34:37] responds to

[00:34:37] with his

[00:34:38] baptismal

[00:34:39] vow?

[00:34:40] Isn't it

[00:34:41] more like a

[00:34:41] wedding than

[00:34:42] an oath in

[00:34:43] court where

[00:34:44] you just do

[00:34:45] something on

[00:34:46] your own?

[00:34:48] Here's a

[00:34:48] man who

[00:34:49] gets his

[00:34:49] eye on a

[00:34:50] young lady.

[00:34:52] He courts

[00:34:52] her.

[00:34:53] He draws

[00:34:55] out her

[00:34:55] affections to

[00:34:56] the point where

[00:34:56] she finally is

[00:34:57] willing to

[00:34:57] marry him.

[00:34:59] And so

[00:35:00] they exchange

[00:35:01] vows.

[00:35:02] It's not a

[00:35:03] one-way thing.

[00:35:04] There are two

[00:35:05] vows.

[00:35:06] In effect,

[00:35:07] she is saying,

[00:35:08] I will be

[00:35:08] faithful to

[00:35:09] you because

[00:35:09] you have

[00:35:10] said you

[00:35:10] will be

[00:35:10] faithful to

[00:35:11] me.

[00:35:12] And he

[00:35:12] is saying,

[00:35:13] I will be

[00:35:13] faithful to

[00:35:14] you because

[00:35:14] you have

[00:35:15] said you

[00:35:15] will be

[00:35:15] faithful to

[00:35:16] me.

[00:35:17] Now,

[00:35:17] the church

[00:35:18] sees somebody

[00:35:20] who shows an

[00:35:21] interest in the

[00:35:22] gospel and

[00:35:22] they draw

[00:35:23] that.

[00:35:24] There's a

[00:35:24] similarity to

[00:35:24] a courtship

[00:35:25] which sometimes

[00:35:26] can entrap a

[00:35:26] minister if

[00:35:27] he's not

[00:35:27] careful.

[00:35:29] There's a

[00:35:30] similarity there

[00:35:30] to the

[00:35:31] courtship.

[00:35:32] And this

[00:35:35] interest grows

[00:35:37] until finally

[00:35:37] there is a

[00:35:38] conviction and

[00:35:40] finally the

[00:35:40] individual says,

[00:35:42] I vow that

[00:35:43] I will be

[00:35:44] faithful to

[00:35:44] the church as

[00:35:45] long as the

[00:35:46] church is

[00:35:46] faithful in

[00:35:47] teaching the

[00:35:48] truth of

[00:35:48] God.

[00:35:50] Now,

[00:35:50] what a

[00:35:51] perversion to

[00:35:52] think of that

[00:35:53] as a one-way

[00:35:54] vow.

[00:35:54] It's not a

[00:35:54] single vow.

[00:35:55] It's a

[00:35:55] double vow.

[00:35:57] And the

[00:35:57] idea that

[00:35:58] no matter

[00:35:59] what the

[00:35:59] church does,

[00:36:00] we have to

[00:36:01] be faithful to

[00:36:02] the church,

[00:36:02] loyal to the

[00:36:03] church,

[00:36:04] is just as

[00:36:06] incredible as

[00:36:07] to say the

[00:36:09] marriage vow

[00:36:09] means that no

[00:36:10] matter what

[00:36:11] your companion

[00:36:11] does, you

[00:36:12] have to be

[00:36:12] faithful.

[00:36:13] He can go

[00:36:14] out and run

[00:36:15] around with

[00:36:15] thousands of

[00:36:16] other women,

[00:36:17] but you have

[00:36:17] to be faithful

[00:36:18] to him.

[00:36:18] What ridiculous

[00:36:19] nonsense is

[00:36:20] that?

[00:36:22] The

[00:36:23] baptismal vow

[00:36:24] is not a

[00:36:24] single vow.

[00:36:25] It's a

[00:36:25] double vow.

[00:36:26] The church

[00:36:26] vows to

[00:36:27] teach the

[00:36:28] truth, the

[00:36:29] pure truth

[00:36:29] and nothing

[00:36:30] but the

[00:36:30] truth.

[00:36:31] And the

[00:36:31] sinner responds

[00:36:32] to that and

[00:36:32] says, I

[00:36:33] will join the

[00:36:33] church and

[00:36:34] I will support

[00:36:34] the church.

[00:36:35] It's a

[00:36:35] double vow,

[00:36:36] like a

[00:36:36] marriage vow.

[00:36:37] It's not a

[00:36:37] single vow.

[00:36:38] But let's

[00:36:39] move on.

[00:36:40] All the

[00:36:40] reformers had to

[00:36:41] struggle with

[00:36:41] this.

[00:36:42] If you look

[00:36:42] carefully at

[00:36:42] what you read

[00:36:43] in the book,

[00:36:43] Great Controversy

[00:36:44] about the

[00:36:44] Reformation,

[00:36:47] every individual

[00:36:48] reformer fought

[00:36:48] his own spiritual

[00:36:49] battle on this

[00:36:50] subject, fought a

[00:36:51] battle in his

[00:36:51] own soul.

[00:36:53] How can I

[00:36:55] break away from

[00:36:56] the authority of

[00:36:57] the church?

[00:36:57] The church is

[00:36:58] everything to me.

[00:37:00] The church is

[00:37:01] just, I just

[00:37:03] cannot understand

[00:37:05] how it would be

[00:37:06] possible for me

[00:37:07] to be required

[00:37:09] to separate myself

[00:37:10] from the

[00:37:10] commandments and

[00:37:11] the instructions

[00:37:12] and the

[00:37:12] teachings of the

[00:37:13] church.

[00:37:13] church.

[00:37:14] But we have to

[00:37:15] recognize the

[00:37:15] painful fact that

[00:37:16] every one of

[00:37:17] them had to

[00:37:17] do it.

[00:37:18] So we have a

[00:37:19] comment in

[00:37:19] Desire of Ages

[00:37:20] page 467 about

[00:37:21] apostolic succession

[00:37:23] which is worth

[00:37:23] noting.

[00:37:26] Apostolic succession

[00:37:27] rests not upon

[00:37:28] the transmission of

[00:37:29] ecclesiastical

[00:37:30] authority but upon

[00:37:32] spiritual relationship,

[00:37:34] a life actuated by

[00:37:36] the apostle's

[00:37:36] spirit, the

[00:37:38] belief and

[00:37:38] teaching of the

[00:37:39] truths they

[00:37:40] taught.

[00:37:41] This is the

[00:37:42] true evidence of

[00:37:42] apostolic succession.

[00:37:44] This is what

[00:37:45] constitutes men,

[00:37:46] the successors of

[00:37:47] the first teachers

[00:37:48] of the gospel.

[00:37:50] Can it be

[00:37:51] possible for

[00:37:53] any human being

[00:37:55] to be authorized

[00:37:56] by God to teach

[00:37:57] things that are

[00:37:57] not true about

[00:37:58] God?

[00:38:00] Impossible.

[00:38:01] When anybody

[00:38:02] steps off the

[00:38:03] platform of

[00:38:04] truth, they

[00:38:04] automatically step

[00:38:05] off the platform

[00:38:06] of authority,

[00:38:07] do they not?

[00:38:08] They have no

[00:38:09] authority whatsoever

[00:38:10] over our souls

[00:38:12] as long as they

[00:38:13] are standing there.

[00:38:14] Now I want to

[00:38:15] briefly recap a

[00:38:16] little bit of

[00:38:16] what I said

[00:38:17] last night because

[00:38:17] half of you were

[00:38:19] not here last

[00:38:19] night.

[00:38:21] I pointed out

[00:38:22] that it is

[00:38:22] scripture.

[00:38:23] Would you like it

[00:38:23] up with me in

[00:38:24] 2 Thessalonians

[00:38:24] chapter 2?

[00:38:29] 2 Thessalonians

[00:38:30] chapter 2,

[00:38:43] 2 Thessalonians

[00:38:44] chapter 2,

[00:38:44] beginning with

[00:38:45] verse 10.

[00:38:48] Verse 10, the

[00:38:49] first part of it

[00:38:50] is a continuation

[00:38:50] of verse 9,

[00:38:51] but let's just

[00:38:52] go past it.

[00:38:53] With all

[00:38:54] deceivableness of

[00:38:55] unrighteousness in

[00:38:56] them that perish.

[00:38:57] Now look carefully

[00:38:58] at this point.

[00:39:10] You've got a

[00:39:13] psychological

[00:39:13] problem placed

[00:39:14] before you here.

[00:39:15] Excuse me.

[00:39:18] A very, very

[00:39:19] serious

[00:39:20] psychological

[00:39:21] problem.

[00:39:22] Because they

[00:39:23] receive not

[00:39:25] the love

[00:39:25] of the truth,

[00:39:26] they end up

[00:39:27] in a condition

[00:39:28] where they

[00:39:28] cannot tell

[00:39:29] what is

[00:39:29] truth.

[00:39:31] They actually

[00:39:32] seriously do

[00:39:33] not know when

[00:39:34] they're telling

[00:39:35] something untrue.

[00:39:37] Now psychologists

[00:39:38] have their own

[00:39:38] particular jargon

[00:39:39] and their own

[00:39:39] particular word

[00:39:40] for that.

[00:39:41] They call it

[00:39:41] a pathological

[00:39:42] liar.

[00:39:43] I don't know

[00:39:44] whether Paul

[00:39:44] would use that

[00:39:45] term or not,

[00:39:46] but here you

[00:39:47] have something

[00:39:48] pointed out that's

[00:39:49] surely a dreadful

[00:39:49] condition.

[00:39:51] You can

[00:39:52] actually lose

[00:39:53] your ability to

[00:39:54] tell right from

[00:39:55] wrong because

[00:39:56] you reject

[00:39:57] light that

[00:39:58] comes to

[00:39:58] you.

[00:39:59] And Ellen White

[00:40:00] comments all

[00:40:00] night in

[00:40:01] several

[00:40:01] statements that

[00:40:02] I read last

[00:40:02] night.

[00:40:02] I want to

[00:40:03] read them

[00:40:03] again for

[00:40:04] the benefit

[00:40:04] of you

[00:40:04] folks who

[00:40:05] were not

[00:40:05] here.

[00:40:06] From the

[00:40:07] Journal of

[00:40:07] the Bible

[00:40:08] Training

[00:40:08] School of

[00:40:09] March 1,

[00:40:09] 1915,

[00:40:11] the mind

[00:40:12] that cherishes

[00:40:13] sentiments that

[00:40:15] tend to

[00:40:15] destroy the

[00:40:16] foundation of

[00:40:17] the faith that

[00:40:18] has made us

[00:40:19] what we are

[00:40:20] becomes

[00:40:21] confused and

[00:40:23] cannot discern

[00:40:24] between truth

[00:40:25] and error.

[00:40:27] Can't tell.

[00:40:29] Well, there's

[00:40:30] more of that.

[00:40:32] Great

[00:40:32] Controversy

[00:40:33] 378.

[00:40:34] He who

[00:40:35] deliberately

[00:40:35] stifles his

[00:40:36] conviction of

[00:40:37] duty because it

[00:40:38] interferes with

[00:40:38] his inclinations

[00:40:40] will finally

[00:40:41] lose the

[00:40:42] power to

[00:40:43] distinguish

[00:40:43] between truth

[00:40:44] and error.

[00:40:46] You say,

[00:40:47] oh, anybody

[00:40:47] can always tell

[00:40:50] truth from

[00:40:50] falsehood.

[00:40:51] Oh, no,

[00:40:51] they can't.

[00:40:52] Not if you

[00:40:53] fool around

[00:40:53] with your mind

[00:40:54] like this.

[00:40:56] Review and

[00:40:57] Herald,

[00:40:58] May 1893,

[00:41:00] by rejection

[00:41:01] of evidence,

[00:41:03] the Jewish

[00:41:04] leaders lost

[00:41:05] their spiritual

[00:41:05] insight and

[00:41:06] could not

[00:41:07] discern between

[00:41:08] good and

[00:41:09] evil.

[00:41:11] I propose

[00:41:12] that this is

[00:41:13] a special

[00:41:14] kind of

[00:41:15] psychological

[00:41:16] problem,

[00:41:18] a manner

[00:41:18] of madness,

[00:41:19] I have called

[00:41:20] it.

[00:41:20] And people

[00:41:21] who are

[00:41:21] afflicted

[00:41:22] with this

[00:41:22] manner of

[00:41:23] madness

[00:41:23] will do

[00:41:24] preposterous

[00:41:24] things.

[00:41:25] We see

[00:41:26] them do

[00:41:27] it.

[00:41:28] We hear

[00:41:28] them do

[00:41:30] it.

[00:41:30] We read

[00:41:30] their writings

[00:41:31] in which

[00:41:31] they do

[00:41:31] it,

[00:41:31] and we're

[00:41:32] just

[00:41:32] utterly

[00:41:32] astonished.

[00:41:33] How could

[00:41:34] any man

[00:41:34] do such

[00:41:35] a thing

[00:41:35] as that?

[00:41:35] I want

[00:41:36] to give

[00:41:36] you some

[00:41:36] examples,

[00:41:37] and this

[00:41:37] gives me

[00:41:37] no pleasure

[00:41:38] to do

[00:41:38] this,

[00:41:38] but I

[00:41:39] believe

[00:41:39] we're

[00:41:39] coming

[00:41:40] to a

[00:41:40] time

[00:41:40] when we

[00:41:41] need

[00:41:41] to be

[00:41:41] very

[00:41:41] frank.

[00:41:42] Thank

[00:41:42] you

[00:41:42] very

[00:41:42] much.

[00:41:50] I

[00:41:50] want

[00:41:51] to

[00:41:51] give

[00:41:51] you

[00:41:51] a

[00:41:51] few

[00:41:52] examples

[00:41:52] of

[00:41:52] exactly

[00:41:53] what

[00:41:53] we're

[00:41:53] talking

[00:41:53] about

[00:41:53] as far

[00:41:54] as my

[00:41:54] human

[00:41:54] vision

[00:41:55] can

[00:41:55] understand

[00:41:55] it.

[00:41:56] I have

[00:41:59] a book

[00:41:59] in my

[00:42:00] library

[00:42:00] written

[00:42:01] by a

[00:42:01] very

[00:42:02] well-known

[00:42:02] Seventh-day

[00:42:03] Adventist

[00:42:03] scholar

[00:42:03] named

[00:42:04] Dr.

[00:42:04] Leroy

[00:42:04] Edwin

[00:42:05] Frum.

[00:42:06] The

[00:42:07] book

[00:42:07] is

[00:42:07] entitled

[00:42:08] Movement

[00:42:08] of

[00:42:08] Destiny.

[00:42:12] I

[00:42:23] He

[00:42:23] has

[00:42:24] a

[00:42:24] paragraph

[00:42:25] heading

[00:42:26] on the

[00:42:27] page

[00:42:27] which

[00:42:28] says

[00:42:28] took

[00:42:30] sinless

[00:42:30] nature

[00:42:31] of

[00:42:32] Adam

[00:42:32] before

[00:42:33] fall.

[00:42:35] Beneath

[00:42:36] that

[00:42:36] he

[00:42:36] has

[00:42:36] some

[00:42:37] little

[00:42:37] snippets

[00:42:37] of

[00:42:37] quotations

[00:42:38] from

[00:42:38] the

[00:42:38] spirit

[00:42:38] of

[00:42:39] prophecy

[00:42:39] and

[00:42:40] his

[00:42:40] particular

[00:42:40] style

[00:42:41] which

[00:42:41] I

[00:42:41] don't

[00:42:41] have

[00:42:41] time

[00:42:42] to

[00:42:42] describe

[00:42:42] for

[00:42:42] you

[00:42:42] just

[00:42:43] now

[00:42:43] in

[00:42:43] detail

[00:42:43] is

[00:42:43] to

[00:42:44] use

[00:42:44] a

[00:42:44] few

[00:42:45] words

[00:42:45] in

[00:42:45] the

[00:42:45] middle

[00:42:45] of

[00:42:46] a

[00:42:46] sentence

[00:42:46] and

[00:42:46] some

[00:42:46] of

[00:42:46] his

[00:42:47] words

[00:42:47] on

[00:42:47] this

[00:42:48] side

[00:42:49] and

[00:42:50] some

[00:42:51] of

[00:42:51] his

[00:42:51] read

[00:42:51] that

[00:42:52] and

[00:42:52] you

[00:42:52] think

[00:42:52] I'm

[00:42:53] getting

[00:42:53] Ellen

[00:42:53] White's

[00:42:53] ideas

[00:42:54] when

[00:42:54] you're

[00:42:54] getting

[00:42:54] something

[00:42:55] else

[00:42:55] but

[00:42:55] let me

[00:42:55] show

[00:42:55] you

[00:42:55] what

[00:42:56] I'm

[00:42:56] talking

[00:42:56] about

[00:42:56] now

[00:42:57] beneath

[00:42:58] this

[00:42:59] paragraph

[00:42:59] heading

[00:43:00] took

[00:43:00] sinless

[00:43:01] nature

[00:43:01] of

[00:43:01] Adam

[00:43:01] before

[00:43:02] fall

[00:43:02] he

[00:43:02] puts

[00:43:02] a

[00:43:03] line

[00:43:04] which

[00:43:04] has

[00:43:04] these

[00:43:05] words

[00:43:05] from

[00:43:05] Ellen

[00:43:05] White

[00:43:06] he

[00:43:07] did

[00:43:07] not

[00:43:07] in

[00:43:08] the

[00:43:08] least

[00:43:08] participate

[00:43:09] in

[00:43:09] its

[00:43:09] sin

[00:43:11] wait

[00:43:11] just

[00:43:12] a

[00:43:12] minute

[00:43:12] please

[00:43:14] what

[00:43:15] sin

[00:43:15] was

[00:43:16] there

[00:43:16] in

[00:43:17] the

[00:43:17] sinless

[00:43:17] nature

[00:43:18] of

[00:43:18] Adam

[00:43:18] before

[00:43:18] the

[00:43:19] fall

[00:43:19] that

[00:43:19] Christ

[00:43:19] might

[00:43:20] have

[00:43:20] participated

[00:43:20] in

[00:43:22] why

[00:43:23] would

[00:43:23] Ellen

[00:43:23] White

[00:43:24] need

[00:43:24] to

[00:43:24] tell

[00:43:24] us

[00:43:24] that

[00:43:25] Christ

[00:43:25] never

[00:43:25] participated

[00:43:26] in

[00:43:26] the

[00:43:26] sin

[00:43:26] of

[00:43:27] the

[00:43:27] sinless

[00:43:27] nature

[00:43:27] of

[00:43:27] Adam

[00:43:28] before

[00:43:28] the

[00:43:28] fall

[00:43:30] so

[00:43:30] you

[00:43:31] say

[00:43:31] why

[00:43:31] did

[00:43:31] Ellen

[00:43:32] White

[00:43:32] write

[00:43:33] that

[00:43:33] what's

[00:43:33] the

[00:43:33] matter

[00:43:33] with

[00:43:47] Ellen

[00:43:48] nature

[00:43:48] in

[00:43:48] its

[00:43:48] fallen

[00:43:49] condition

[00:43:50] Christ

[00:43:50] did

[00:43:51] not

[00:43:51] in

[00:43:51] the

[00:43:51] least

[00:43:51] participate

[00:43:52] in

[00:43:52] its

[00:43:52] sin

[00:43:53] well

[00:43:54] that's

[00:43:54] more

[00:43:54] than

[00:43:54] a

[00:43:55] little

[00:43:55] bit

[00:43:55] different

[00:43:55] isn't

[00:43:55] it

[00:43:57] took

[00:43:57] sinless

[00:43:58] nature

[00:43:58] of

[00:43:59] Adam

[00:43:59] before

[00:43:59] fall

[00:44:00] he

[00:44:00] did

[00:44:00] not

[00:44:00] in

[00:44:00] the

[00:44:00] least

[00:44:00] participate

[00:44:01] in

[00:44:01] its

[00:44:01] sin

[00:44:03] in

[00:44:04] taking

[00:44:04] upon

[00:44:04] himself

[00:44:05] man's

[00:44:05] nature

[00:44:05] in

[00:44:05] his

[00:44:06] fallen

[00:44:06] condition

[00:44:06] he

[00:44:07] did

[00:44:07] not

[00:44:18] he

[00:44:18] taught

[00:44:19] for

[00:44:19] quite

[00:44:19] a

[00:44:19] few

[00:44:20] years

[00:44:20] at

[00:44:20] our

[00:44:20] theological

[00:44:21] seminary

[00:44:21] where

[00:44:22] our

[00:44:22] ministers

[00:44:22] were

[00:44:22] trained

[00:44:26] how

[00:44:27] could

[00:44:27] he

[00:44:27] do

[00:44:28] that

[00:44:30] I

[00:44:30] don't

[00:44:30] want

[00:44:31] to

[00:44:31] believe

[00:44:31] that

[00:44:31] he

[00:44:33] was

[00:44:34] dishonest

[00:44:35] I

[00:44:36] don't

[00:44:36] want

[00:44:36] to

[00:44:36] believe

[00:44:36] that

[00:44:36] he

[00:44:37] just

[00:44:37] set

[00:44:37] out

[00:44:37] to

[00:44:37] deliberately

[00:44:38] play

[00:44:38] a

[00:44:38] dirty

[00:44:38] trick

[00:44:39] on

[00:44:39] us

[00:44:40] so

[00:44:41] my

[00:44:41] only

[00:44:41] choice

[00:44:41] is

[00:44:42] to

[00:44:42] say

[00:44:42] well

[00:44:42] he's

[00:44:43] one

[00:44:43] of

[00:44:43] those

[00:44:43] who

[00:44:43] did

[00:44:44] not

[00:44:44] love

[00:44:44] the

[00:44:44] truth

[00:44:45] and

[00:44:45] so

[00:44:45] he

[00:44:45] lost

[00:44:46] the

[00:44:46] ability

[00:44:46] to

[00:44:46] recognize

[00:44:47] what

[00:44:47] he

[00:44:47] was

[00:44:47] doing

[00:44:49] that's

[00:44:49] the

[00:44:50] only

[00:44:50] avenue

[00:44:50] I

[00:44:50] have

[00:44:51] left

[00:44:51] and

[00:44:52] there's

[00:44:52] more

[00:44:52] Dr.

[00:44:53] Edward

[00:44:53] Hetlestall

[00:44:54] served

[00:44:54] for many

[00:44:55] years

[00:44:55] as

[00:44:55] chairman

[00:44:55] of the

[00:44:56] systematic

[00:44:56] theology

[00:44:56] department

[00:44:57] of our

[00:44:58] theological

[00:44:59] seminary

[00:45:00] he

[00:45:01] published

[00:45:01] two

[00:45:02] different

[00:45:02] books

[00:45:02] only one

[00:45:03] year

[00:45:03] apart

[00:45:05] one

[00:45:05] was

[00:45:06] published

[00:45:06] in

[00:45:06] 1975

[00:45:07] by

[00:45:07] Southern

[00:45:08] Publishing

[00:45:08] Association

[00:45:09] it

[00:45:09] was

[00:45:09] called

[00:45:10] Perfection

[00:45:10] the

[00:45:10] Impossible

[00:45:11] Possibility

[00:45:13] in

[00:45:13] that

[00:45:14] book

[00:45:14] Ellen

[00:45:14] White

[00:45:14] wrote

[00:45:15] pardon

[00:45:15] in

[00:45:16] that

[00:45:16] book

[00:45:16] Dr.

[00:45:16] Hepistall

[00:45:17] wrote

[00:45:19] 21

[00:45:19] statements

[00:45:20] 21

[00:45:21] times

[00:45:22] that

[00:45:22] it

[00:45:22] is

[00:45:22] not

[00:45:22] possible

[00:45:23] even

[00:45:23] by

[00:45:23] the

[00:45:23] power

[00:45:24] of

[00:45:24] God

[00:45:24] for

[00:45:24] Christians

[00:45:25] to

[00:45:25] stop

[00:45:25] sinning

[00:45:26] 21

[00:45:26] times

[00:45:27] he

[00:45:27] wrote

[00:45:27] that

[00:45:29] one

[00:45:29] year

[00:45:29] apart

[00:45:30] there

[00:45:30] was

[00:45:30] another

[00:45:30] book

[00:45:31] called

[00:45:31] Salvation

[00:45:32] Unlimited

[00:45:32] which

[00:45:33] he

[00:45:33] also

[00:45:33] wrote

[00:45:34] which

[00:45:35] has

[00:45:35] 15

[00:45:36] statements

[00:45:36] that

[00:45:36] it

[00:45:36] is

[00:45:37] possible

[00:45:37] by

[00:45:38] the

[00:45:38] power

[00:45:38] of

[00:45:38] God

[00:45:38] for

[00:45:38] every

[00:45:39] Christian

[00:45:39] to

[00:45:39] stop

[00:45:40] sinning

[00:45:41] 12

[00:45:42] months

[00:45:42] apart

[00:45:43] how

[00:45:44] do

[00:45:44] we

[00:45:44] understand

[00:45:44] things

[00:45:45] like

[00:45:45] this

[00:45:46] here's

[00:45:47] one

[00:45:47] of his

[00:45:47] strong

[00:45:47] statements

[00:45:48] that

[00:45:48] people

[00:45:48] can

[00:45:49] stop

[00:45:49] sinning

[00:45:49] well

[00:45:50] let

[00:45:51] me

[00:45:51] read

[00:45:51] you

[00:45:51] first

[00:45:52] one

[00:45:52] that

[00:45:52] they

[00:45:52] cannot

[00:45:54] the

[00:45:54] Bible

[00:45:54] rejects

[00:45:55] every

[00:45:56] possibility

[00:45:57] of our

[00:45:57] reaching

[00:45:57] sinless

[00:45:58] perfection

[00:45:58] in

[00:45:59] this

[00:45:59] life

[00:45:59] that's

[00:45:59] in

[00:46:00] his

[00:46:00] first

[00:46:00] book

[00:46:00] the

[00:46:01] other

[00:46:01] book

[00:46:02] reads

[00:46:02] like

[00:46:03] this

[00:46:04] we

[00:46:04] need

[00:46:05] to

[00:46:05] commit

[00:46:05] ourselves

[00:46:05] to

[00:46:06] that

[00:46:06] love

[00:46:06] from

[00:46:07] God

[00:46:07] and

[00:46:07] from

[00:46:07] his

[00:46:08] son

[00:46:08] that

[00:46:08] issues

[00:46:08] in

[00:46:08] our

[00:46:09] deliverance

[00:46:10] from

[00:46:10] all

[00:46:10] that

[00:46:10] is

[00:46:11] sinful

[00:46:12] let

[00:46:12] us

[00:46:12] give

[00:46:13] full

[00:46:13] scope

[00:46:14] to

[00:46:14] his

[00:46:14] incomparable

[00:46:15] love

[00:46:15] and

[00:46:36] doctor

[00:46:36] philosophy

[00:46:37] to

[00:46:37] how

[00:46:37] can

[00:46:38] you

[00:46:38] explain

[00:46:38] that

[00:46:39] again

[00:46:39] I

[00:46:39] say

[00:46:39] I

[00:46:39] don't

[00:46:40] want

[00:46:40] to

[00:46:40] believe

[00:46:40] that

[00:46:40] he's

[00:46:40] a

[00:46:40] crook

[00:46:41] I

[00:46:42] don't

[00:46:42] want

[00:46:42] to

[00:46:42] believe

[00:46:43] that

[00:46:43] he

[00:46:43] just

[00:46:43] sat

[00:46:43] down

[00:46:44] to

[00:46:44] deliberately

[00:46:44] deceive

[00:46:45] us

[00:46:45] and so

[00:46:45] the only

[00:46:46] thing left

[00:46:46] for me

[00:46:47] is that

[00:46:47] he

[00:46:47] must be

[00:46:47] among

[00:46:48] those

[00:46:49] who are

[00:46:50] described as

[00:46:51] having

[00:46:52] not

[00:46:52] received

[00:46:53] the love

[00:46:53] of

[00:46:54] the

[00:46:54] truth

[00:46:54] they

[00:46:54] come

[00:46:54] to

[00:46:55] the

[00:46:55] place

[00:46:55] where

[00:46:55] they

[00:46:55] can't

[00:46:56] tell

[00:46:56] what

[00:46:56] they're

[00:46:56] doing

[00:46:57] they'll

[00:46:58] write

[00:46:58] something

[00:46:58] totally

[00:46:59] untrue

[00:46:59] and think

[00:46:59] they wrote

[00:47:00] something

[00:47:00] true

[00:47:01] and

[00:47:01] they'll

[00:47:01] turn

[00:47:02] around

[00:47:02] and

[00:47:02] write

[00:47:02] the

[00:47:02] exact

[00:47:03] opposite

[00:47:03] and

[00:47:03] apparently

[00:47:04] not

[00:47:04] realize

[00:47:04] what

[00:47:04] they're

[00:47:04] doing

[00:47:06] and

[00:47:06] I

[00:47:23] have

[00:47:25] not

[00:47:26] received

[00:47:26] the

[00:47:26] love

[00:47:27] of

[00:47:27] the

[00:47:27] truth

[00:47:27] they

[00:47:27] come

[00:47:28] to

[00:47:28] the

[00:47:28] place

[00:47:28] where

[00:47:28] they

[00:47:28] can't

[00:47:29] tell

[00:47:29] what

[00:47:29] they're

[00:47:29] doing

[00:47:30] they'll

[00:47:31] write

[00:47:31] something

[00:47:31] totally

[00:47:32] untrue

[00:47:32] and think

[00:47:33] they wrote

[00:47:33] something

[00:47:33] true

[00:47:34] and

[00:47:35] they'll

[00:47:35] turn

[00:47:35] around

[00:47:35] and

[00:47:35] write

[00:47:35] the

[00:47:36] exact

[00:47:36] opposite

[00:47:36] and

[00:47:36] apparently

[00:47:37] not

[00:47:37] realize

[00:47:37] what

[00:47:37] they're

[00:47:38] doing

[00:47:39] and

[00:47:40] I

[00:47:40] have

[00:47:40] a

[00:47:40] single

[00:47:40] book

[00:47:41] from

[00:47:41] Dr.

[00:47:41] Heperstol

[00:47:42] which

[00:47:42] has

[00:47:42] about

[00:47:42] a dozen

[00:47:43] contradictions

[00:47:43] within

[00:47:44] a

[00:47:44] single

[00:47:44] book

[00:47:44] but

[00:47:44] I

[00:47:45] will

[00:47:45] share

[00:47:45] that

[00:47:45] with

[00:47:45] you

[00:47:45] some

[00:47:46] other

[00:47:46] time

[00:47:46] may

[00:47:47] be

[00:47:48] Dr.

[00:47:49] Desmond

[00:47:49] Ford

[00:47:50] I

[00:47:51] had

[00:47:51] only

[00:47:51] been

[00:47:52] appointed

[00:47:52] to

[00:47:52] the

[00:47:52] campus

[00:47:53] hill

[00:47:53] church

[00:47:54] in

[00:47:54] Loma

[00:47:54] Linda

[00:47:55] for a

[00:47:56] few

[00:47:56] months

[00:47:56] when

[00:47:57] Dr.

[00:47:57] Desmond

[00:47:57] Ford

[00:47:57] came

[00:47:58] down

[00:47:58] for

[00:47:58] Pacific

[00:47:59] Union

[00:47:59] College

[00:47:59] to

[00:48:00] conduct

[00:48:00] a

[00:48:00] week

[00:48:00] of

[00:48:00] prayer

[00:48:01] this

[00:48:02] was

[00:48:02] my

[00:48:02] initiation

[00:48:03] to

[00:48:03] the

[00:48:04] great

[00:48:04] battle

[00:48:04] that's

[00:48:04] going

[00:48:05] on

[00:48:05] in

[00:48:05] the

[00:48:05] church

[00:48:05] I

[00:48:05] didn't

[00:48:05] know

[00:48:06] anything

[00:48:06] about

[00:48:06] it

[00:48:06] before

[00:48:06] that

[00:48:07] time

[00:48:07] I

[00:48:07] was

[00:48:08] innocent

[00:48:08] as

[00:48:08] could

[00:48:09] be

[00:48:10] but

[00:48:10] I

[00:48:11] soon

[00:48:11] wised

[00:48:11] up

[00:48:13] he

[00:48:14] preached

[00:48:15] there

[00:48:15] that it's

[00:48:16] impossible

[00:48:16] for anybody

[00:48:17] to stop

[00:48:17] sinning

[00:48:19] and later

[00:48:19] than that

[00:48:20] he preached

[00:48:20] against the

[00:48:21] sanctuary

[00:48:22] you remember

[00:48:23] that

[00:48:24] challenge

[00:48:25] of the

[00:48:25] sanctuary

[00:48:25] that finally

[00:48:26] led to him

[00:48:26] being dropped

[00:48:27] from the

[00:48:27] work

[00:48:28] and his

[00:48:29] specialty

[00:48:30] is outright

[00:48:31] faking

[00:48:31] of evidence

[00:48:33] I was one

[00:48:34] of those

[00:48:34] who were

[00:48:34] requested

[00:48:35] to analyze

[00:48:36] his attack

[00:48:36] on the

[00:48:37] sanctuary

[00:48:37] and to

[00:48:38] send my

[00:48:38] findings

[00:48:38] to the

[00:48:39] general

[00:48:39] conference

[00:48:39] which I

[00:48:40] did

[00:48:41] and when

[00:48:42] I got

[00:48:42] into his

[00:48:43] work

[00:48:43] on the

[00:48:43] sanctuary

[00:48:44] I was

[00:48:44] utterly

[00:48:45] astonished

[00:48:45] to find

[00:48:46] that

[00:48:46] references

[00:48:47] did not

[00:48:48] check out

[00:48:48] quotations

[00:48:49] did not

[00:48:49] check out

[00:48:50] claims

[00:48:50] did not

[00:48:50] check out

[00:48:52] out of

[00:48:52] so many

[00:48:53] so many

[00:48:53] many

[00:48:54] things

[00:48:54] that he

[00:48:54] wrote

[00:48:57] almost

[00:48:57] all of

[00:48:58] them

[00:48:58] were just

[00:48:58] simply

[00:48:59] not

[00:48:59] true

[00:48:59] for

[00:49:00] example

[00:49:01] he said

[00:49:02] that the

[00:49:03] word

[00:49:03] cleanse

[00:49:03] is not

[00:49:04] in

[00:49:04] Daniel 8

[00:49:05] 14

[00:49:05] and

[00:49:05] Leviticus

[00:49:07] 16

[00:49:07] in Hebrew

[00:49:08] but it

[00:49:08] is

[00:49:09] he said

[00:49:10] that modern

[00:49:11] translations

[00:49:11] do not

[00:49:12] use the

[00:49:12] word

[00:49:13] cleanse

[00:49:13] but some

[00:49:13] of them

[00:49:14] do

[00:49:15] he said

[00:49:15] that in

[00:49:16] his own

[00:49:16] commentary

[00:49:16] in the book

[00:49:17] of Daniel

[00:49:17] he refused

[00:49:18] to go that

[00:49:19] route

[00:49:19] putting Leviticus

[00:49:21] 16 together

[00:49:22] with Daniel

[00:49:22] are you with me

[00:49:23] here

[00:49:23] Daniel 8

[00:49:24] 14

[00:49:25] and to

[00:49:26] 2300

[00:49:26] and Leviticus

[00:49:29] talks about

[00:49:29] the cleansing

[00:49:30] of the

[00:49:30] sanctuary

[00:49:31] Leviticus

[00:49:32] 16

[00:49:34] that most

[00:49:35] versions

[00:49:36] translate

[00:49:36] Hebrews

[00:49:37] 9

[00:49:37] 12

[00:49:37] as the

[00:49:37] most

[00:49:38] holy

[00:49:38] place

[00:49:38] they

[00:49:38] don't

[00:49:39] that

[00:49:40] bulls

[00:49:40] and goats

[00:49:41] were

[00:49:41] sacrificed

[00:49:41] on the

[00:49:42] day

[00:49:42] of

[00:49:42] atonement

[00:49:43] only

[00:49:43] on the

[00:49:43] day

[00:49:43] of

[00:49:44] atonement

[00:49:44] they

[00:49:44] were not

[00:49:44] see

[00:49:45] Leviticus

[00:49:45] 4

[00:49:46] that

[00:49:47] the

[00:49:47] high

[00:49:47] priest

[00:49:47] had

[00:49:47] no

[00:49:48] distinctive

[00:49:48] work

[00:49:48] in the

[00:49:49] holy

[00:49:49] place

[00:49:49] he did

[00:49:50] see

[00:49:50] Exodus

[00:49:50] 37

[00:49:51] and Hebrews

[00:49:52] 7

[00:49:52] 26

[00:49:53] that

[00:49:54] Adventists

[00:49:54] invented

[00:49:55] the

[00:49:55] concept

[00:49:55] of

[00:49:55] a

[00:49:56] movable

[00:49:56] throne

[00:49:56] we

[00:49:57] did

[00:49:57] not

[00:49:57] see

[00:49:57] Daniel

[00:49:58] 7

[00:49:58] 9

[00:49:58] and

[00:49:59] 10

[00:49:59] Revelation

[00:49:59] 4

[00:49:59] 2

[00:50:00] and

[00:50:00] 3

[00:50:00] and

[00:50:00] Ezekiel

[00:50:01] chapter

[00:50:01] 1

[00:50:02] that

[00:50:03] Ellen

[00:50:03] White

[00:50:03] said

[00:50:03] the

[00:50:03] day

[00:50:03] of

[00:50:04] atonement

[00:50:04] began

[00:50:04] in

[00:50:05] 31

[00:50:05] AD

[00:50:05] she

[00:50:06] did

[00:50:06] not

[00:50:06] see

[00:50:06] great

[00:50:07] controversy

[00:50:07] page

[00:50:07] 4

[00:50:08] and

[00:50:08] 9

[00:50:08] patriarchal

[00:50:09] and

[00:50:09] prophecy

[00:50:09] 50

[00:50:09] early

[00:50:10] writings

[00:50:10] 251

[00:50:12] that

[00:50:12] she

[00:50:12] made

[00:50:13] double

[00:50:13] applications

[00:50:14] of

[00:50:15] the

[00:50:15] earth

[00:50:15] wake

[00:50:15] prophecies

[00:50:16] and

[00:50:16] revelations

[00:50:16] she

[00:50:16] did

[00:50:17] not

[00:50:17] see

[00:50:18] general

[00:50:18] conference

[00:50:19] GC

[00:50:20] great

[00:50:20] controversy

[00:50:22] 304

[00:50:22] and

[00:50:22] 637

[00:50:24] and

[00:50:24] other

[00:50:24] things

[00:50:25] but

[00:50:25] they're

[00:50:25] much

[00:50:25] too

[00:50:25] technical

[00:50:26] for

[00:50:26] our

[00:50:26] discussion

[00:50:27] here

[00:50:27] this

[00:50:27] morning

[00:50:29] and

[00:50:29] again

[00:50:30] I

[00:50:30] say

[00:50:30] I

[00:50:30] don't

[00:50:30] want

[00:50:30] to

[00:50:31] believe

[00:50:31] the

[00:50:31] man

[00:50:31] is

[00:50:31] dishonest

[00:50:33] I

[00:50:33] don't

[00:50:33] want

[00:50:33] to

[00:50:33] believe

[00:50:34] he

[00:50:34] just

[00:50:34] deliberately

[00:50:34] set

[00:50:35] out

[00:50:35] to

[00:50:35] deceive

[00:50:35] people

[00:50:36] but

[00:50:36] he

[00:50:36] must

[00:50:36] be

[00:50:37] in

[00:50:37] that

[00:50:37] condition

[00:50:37] described

[00:50:38] in

[00:50:38] both

[00:50:38] the

[00:50:38] Bible

[00:50:39] and

[00:50:39] the

[00:50:39] spirit

[00:50:39] of

[00:50:39] prophecy

[00:50:39] he

[00:50:40] doesn't

[00:50:40] know

[00:50:40] what

[00:50:40] he's

[00:50:40] doing

[00:50:41] he

[00:50:42] doesn't

[00:50:42] know

[00:50:42] whether

[00:50:42] he's

[00:50:42] putting

[00:50:43] down

[00:50:43] truth

[00:50:43] or

[00:50:43] not

[00:50:43] putting

[00:50:44] down

[00:50:44] truth

[00:50:44] that's

[00:50:44] the

[00:50:45] only

[00:50:45] way

[00:50:45] I

[00:50:45] can

[00:50:45] understand

[00:50:45] it

[00:50:47] Dr.

[00:50:47] Helmut

[00:50:48] teaches

[00:50:48] at

[00:50:48] Southern

[00:50:49] college

[00:50:49] to

[00:50:50] this

[00:50:50] day

[00:50:51] in

[00:51:03] true

[00:51:03] meaning

[00:51:03] of

[00:51:03] Ellen

[00:51:04] White

[00:51:04] writings

[00:51:05] and

[00:51:06] it

[00:51:07] was

[00:51:08] his

[00:51:08] purpose

[00:51:08] to

[00:51:09] prove

[00:51:09] as

[00:51:10] he

[00:51:10] saw

[00:51:10] it

[00:51:10] that

[00:51:10] Ellen

[00:51:10] White

[00:51:11] said

[00:51:11] you

[00:51:11] can

[00:51:11] never

[00:51:11] stop

[00:51:12] sinning

[00:51:12] even

[00:51:12] by

[00:51:12] the

[00:51:12] power

[00:51:13] of

[00:51:13] God

[00:51:14] here's

[00:51:14] one

[00:51:14] of

[00:51:15] his

[00:51:15] arguments

[00:51:16] talking

[00:51:16] about

[00:51:17] the

[00:51:17] righteousness

[00:51:17] of

[00:51:18] Christ

[00:51:18] he

[00:51:19] says

[00:51:20] clothing

[00:51:20] is

[00:51:21] never

[00:51:22] an

[00:51:22] integral

[00:51:22] part

[00:51:23] of

[00:51:23] those

[00:51:23] wearing

[00:51:24] it

[00:51:24] it

[00:51:25] is

[00:51:25] something

[00:51:25] put

[00:51:26] upon

[00:51:26] someone

[00:51:27] an

[00:51:27] outward

[00:51:27] cover

[00:51:28] intended

[00:51:28] to

[00:51:28] make

[00:51:29] a

[00:51:29] person

[00:51:29] look

[00:51:29] appropriate

[00:51:31] well

[00:51:32] clothing

[00:51:33] is

[00:51:33] never

[00:51:33] a

[00:51:34] part

[00:51:34] of

[00:51:35] the

[00:51:35] person

[00:51:35] revelation

[00:51:36] 7

[00:51:37] to

[00:51:37] 8

[00:51:38] let

[00:51:38] us

[00:51:39] be

[00:51:39] glad

[00:51:39] and

[00:51:39] rejoice

[00:51:40] and

[00:51:40] give

[00:51:40] honor

[00:51:40] to

[00:51:41] him

[00:51:41] for

[00:51:41] the

[00:51:41] marriage

[00:51:41] of

[00:51:42] the

[00:51:42] lamb

[00:51:42] is

[00:51:42] come

[00:51:42] and

[00:51:43] his

[00:51:43] wife

[00:51:43] hath

[00:51:43] made

[00:51:43] herself

[00:51:44] ready

[00:51:45] and

[00:51:45] to

[00:51:46] her

[00:51:46] was

[00:51:46] granted

[00:51:46] that

[00:51:47] she

[00:51:47] should

[00:51:47] arrayed

[00:51:48] in

[00:51:48] fine

[00:51:48] linen

[00:51:48] clean

[00:51:49] and

[00:51:49] white

[00:51:49] for

[00:51:49] the

[00:51:50] fine

[00:51:50] linen

[00:51:50] is

[00:51:52] the

[00:51:52] righteousness

[00:51:53] of

[00:51:53] saints

[00:51:54] clothing

[00:51:55] is

[00:51:55] never

[00:51:56] part

[00:51:56] of

[00:51:56] the

[00:51:56] person

[00:51:58] the

[00:51:58] fine

[00:51:58] linen

[00:51:59] is

[00:51:59] the

[00:51:59] righteousness

[00:52:00] of

[00:52:00] saints

[00:52:01] well

[00:52:02] you

[00:52:02] can

[00:52:02] debate

[00:52:02] all

[00:52:03] you

[00:52:03] want

[00:52:03] to

[00:52:03] about

[00:52:03] whether

[00:52:03] it's

[00:52:04] a

[00:52:04] part

[00:52:04] or

[00:52:04] whether

[00:52:04] it's

[00:52:04] not

[00:52:04] a

[00:52:05] part

[00:52:05] but

[00:52:05] when

[00:52:05] you

[00:52:05] see

[00:52:05] a

[00:52:05] man

[00:52:06] in

[00:52:06] uniform

[00:52:06] doesn't

[00:52:06] that

[00:52:07] tell

[00:52:07] you

[00:52:07] something

[00:52:09] when

[00:52:09] you

[00:52:09] see

[00:52:10] people

[00:52:10] wearing

[00:52:11] garb

[00:52:12] for

[00:52:12] certain

[00:52:12] kind

[00:52:12] of

[00:52:12] work

[00:52:13] doesn't

[00:52:13] that

[00:52:13] tell

[00:52:13] you

[00:52:13] something

[00:52:14] and

[00:52:15] when

[00:52:15] the

[00:52:15] fine

[00:52:15] linen

[00:52:16] of

[00:52:16] the

[00:52:16] righteousness

[00:52:17] of

[00:52:17] the

[00:52:18] people

[00:52:18] of

[00:52:18] God

[00:52:18] doesn't

[00:52:19] that

[00:52:27] the

[00:52:30] of

[00:52:31] the

[00:52:48] Dr.

[00:52:49] Roy

[00:52:49] Adams

[00:52:50] taught

[00:52:50] at the

[00:52:50] Theological

[00:52:51] Seminary

[00:52:51] of the

[00:52:52] taught

[00:52:53] lived

[00:52:53] right

[00:52:53] across

[00:52:53] the

[00:52:53] street

[00:52:54] from

[00:52:54] me

[00:52:56] 1994

[00:52:56] he

[00:52:57] published

[00:52:57] a book

[00:52:58] on the

[00:52:58] nature

[00:52:58] of

[00:52:58] Christ

[00:53:00] and

[00:53:00] it

[00:53:00] is

[00:53:01] the

[00:53:01] most

[00:53:01] wild

[00:53:02] of

[00:53:02] all

[00:53:02] the

[00:53:02] books

[00:53:02] that

[00:53:02] I've

[00:53:05] most

[00:53:06] irresponsible

[00:53:07] most

[00:53:07] erratic

[00:53:09] it's

[00:53:09] an

[00:53:10] attack

[00:53:10] against

[00:53:12] historic

[00:53:13] Seventh-day

[00:53:13] Adventists

[00:53:16] and

[00:53:16] it's

[00:53:17] highly

[00:53:17] recommended

[00:53:18] on its

[00:53:18] back

[00:53:18] cover

[00:53:19] by the

[00:53:20] President

[00:53:20] of our

[00:53:21] Church

[00:53:21] Elder

[00:53:21] Falkenberg

[00:53:24] now

[00:53:25] I think

[00:53:26] the

[00:53:26] way

[00:53:27] that you

[00:53:27] can

[00:53:27] quickly

[00:53:28] sense

[00:53:29] what

[00:53:29] spirit

[00:53:29] is in

[00:53:30] this

[00:53:30] book

[00:53:31] is

[00:53:31] by

[00:53:31] looking

[00:53:31] at his

[00:53:32] reviling

[00:53:32] these

[00:53:34] are

[00:53:34] words

[00:53:34] that he

[00:53:35] uses

[00:53:35] to

[00:53:35] describe

[00:53:36] you

[00:53:36] and

[00:53:36] me

[00:53:36] we

[00:53:38] are

[00:53:38] in

[00:53:39] his

[00:53:39] view

[00:53:39] sour

[00:53:40] festering

[00:53:42] self

[00:53:43] appointed

[00:53:44] infected

[00:53:46] with the

[00:53:46] virus

[00:53:47] of

[00:53:47] judgmentalism

[00:53:48] and

[00:53:48] suspicion

[00:53:49] disease

[00:53:50] martyr

[00:53:51] complex

[00:53:52] seasoned

[00:53:53] controversialist

[00:53:55] spirit

[00:53:56] of

[00:53:56] accusation

[00:53:57] outraged

[00:53:58] aghast

[00:53:59] scandalized

[00:54:00] pathetic

[00:54:01] self

[00:54:02] confessed

[00:54:02] expert

[00:54:03] mis

[00:54:04] misguided

[00:54:04] wrong

[00:54:05] headed

[00:54:05] steeped

[00:54:06] in their

[00:54:07] cherished

[00:54:07] position

[00:54:08] impenetrable

[00:54:09] to any

[00:54:10] theological

[00:54:10] logic

[00:54:11] irresponsible

[00:54:12] almost

[00:54:13] dishonest

[00:54:14] deluded

[00:54:15] self

[00:54:16] appointed

[00:54:16] gurus

[00:54:17] disgruntled

[00:54:18] pious

[00:54:19] self

[00:54:19] prophets

[00:54:20] turncoats

[00:54:21] charlatans

[00:54:21] and scoundrels

[00:54:22] that's

[00:54:24] you

[00:54:24] and me

[00:54:25] and this

[00:54:27] was

[00:54:27] recommended

[00:54:28] by the

[00:54:28] general

[00:54:28] conference

[00:54:29] president

[00:54:30] now

[00:54:30] that's

[00:54:31] us

[00:54:31] now

[00:54:32] he

[00:54:32] turns

[00:54:32] his

[00:54:32] attention

[00:54:32] to

[00:54:33] what

[00:54:33] we

[00:54:33] write

[00:54:33] and

[00:54:34] what

[00:54:34] we

[00:54:34] say

[00:54:34] and

[00:54:34] he

[00:54:34] describes

[00:54:35] this

[00:54:35] he

[00:54:36] describes

[00:54:36] our

[00:54:36] writings

[00:54:37] and our

[00:54:37] teachings

[00:54:37] in these

[00:54:38] words

[00:54:42] mumblings

[00:54:43] innuendos

[00:54:44] broken

[00:54:45] broken faith

[00:55:32] can you

[00:55:33] remember

[00:55:33] Jim Jones

[00:55:34] who

[00:55:34] caused

[00:55:36] those people

[00:55:37] to commit

[00:55:37] suicide

[00:55:37] down

[00:55:38] where they

[00:55:39] were

[00:55:42] thing

[00:55:42] David

[00:55:42] Koresh

[00:55:58] flagellation

[00:56:00] that's

[00:56:01] our

[00:56:01] writings

[00:56:01] he's

[00:56:02] talking

[00:56:02] about

[00:56:04] well

[00:56:05] he took

[00:56:06] aim

[00:56:06] at

[00:56:07] Robert

[00:56:07] Wieland

[00:56:08] and

[00:56:08] Donald

[00:56:08] Short

[00:56:09] short

[00:56:09] you've heard

[00:56:10] of them

[00:56:10] I can't

[00:56:13] agree

[00:56:14] with

[00:56:14] them

[00:56:14] 100%

[00:56:15] on

[00:56:15] every

[00:56:15] detail

[00:56:15] of

[00:56:16] what

[00:56:16] they

[00:56:16] teach

[00:56:16] but

[00:56:16] they've

[00:56:17] done

[00:56:17] a lot

[00:56:17] of

[00:56:17] good

[00:56:17] but

[00:56:18] this

[00:56:18] is

[00:56:18] what

[00:56:18] he

[00:56:18] says

[00:56:19] this

[00:56:19] is

[00:56:19] how

[00:56:20] he

[00:56:20] sees

[00:56:20] Wieland

[00:56:20] and

[00:56:23] at

[00:56:24] the

[00:56:24] Middle

[00:56:24] East

[00:56:24] today

[00:56:25] this

[00:56:25] was

[00:56:25] when

[00:56:26] the

[00:56:26] war

[00:56:26] was

[00:56:26] on

[00:56:26] the

[00:56:27] Middle

[00:56:27] East

[00:56:27] War

[00:56:28] look

[00:56:29] at

[00:56:29] Northern

[00:56:29] Ireland

[00:56:30] you know

[00:56:30] what's

[00:56:31] been

[00:56:31] happening

[00:56:31] there

[00:56:31] look

[00:56:32] at

[00:56:33] Yugoslavia

[00:56:34] look

[00:56:34] at

[00:56:34] Sudan

[00:56:34] there

[00:56:35] was

[00:56:35] bloodshed

[00:56:35] everywhere

[00:56:37] this

[00:56:38] is

[00:56:38] what

[00:56:38] people

[00:56:38] like

[00:56:39] Wieland

[00:56:39] and

[00:56:39] short

[00:56:40] wish

[00:56:40] on

[00:56:40] us

[00:56:42] now

[00:56:42] folks

[00:56:44] Wieland

[00:56:44] and

[00:56:44] short

[00:56:46] wanting

[00:56:46] to

[00:56:46] cut

[00:56:47] our

[00:56:47] throats

[00:56:48] wanting

[00:56:48] to

[00:56:48] cut

[00:56:48] off

[00:56:49] our

[00:56:49] heads

[00:56:49] wanting

[00:56:50] to

[00:56:50] blast

[00:56:50] us

[00:56:50] out

[00:56:50] of

[00:56:51] existence

[00:56:51] that's

[00:56:52] what

[00:56:52] Wieland

[00:56:52] and

[00:56:52] short

[00:56:54] what's

[00:56:54] going

[00:56:54] on

[00:56:55] here

[00:56:55] this

[00:56:55] man

[00:56:55] has

[00:56:55] a

[00:56:55] doctor

[00:56:56] of

[00:56:56] philosophy

[00:56:56] degree

[00:56:57] he

[00:56:58] taught

[00:56:58] in

[00:56:58] the

[00:56:58] same

[00:56:58] seminary

[00:56:59] in

[00:56:59] a

[00:56:59] different

[00:56:59] room

[00:56:59] from

[00:57:00] where

[00:57:00] I

[00:57:10] left

[00:57:10] for

[00:57:10] me

[00:57:10] to

[00:57:10] believe

[00:57:11] he

[00:57:11] did

[00:57:15] not

[00:57:15] love

[00:57:16] the

[00:57:16] truth

[00:57:17] and

[00:57:17] so

[00:57:18] he

[00:57:18] lost

[00:57:18] his

[00:57:18] ability

[00:57:19] to

[00:57:19] tell

[00:57:19] what

[00:57:19] he

[00:57:20] doesn't

[00:57:20] know

[00:57:21] he

[00:57:21] really

[00:57:22] doesn't

[00:57:23] know

[00:57:23] when

[00:57:23] he's

[00:57:23] telling

[00:57:24] the

[00:57:24] truth

[00:57:24] and

[00:57:24] when

[00:57:24] he's

[00:57:24] not

[00:57:24] telling

[00:57:25] the

[00:57:25] truth

[00:57:26] well

[00:57:27] this

[00:57:27] is

[00:57:29] kind

[00:57:29] of

[00:57:29] depressing

[00:57:30] right

[00:57:32] he

[00:57:32] writes

[00:57:33] the

[00:57:33] people

[00:57:33] I

[00:57:40] perfection

[00:57:40] or

[00:57:40] sinlessness

[00:57:42] I

[00:57:43] guess

[00:57:43] he

[00:57:43] doesn't

[00:57:43] like

[00:57:44] Ellen

[00:57:44] White

[00:57:44] because

[00:57:44] she

[00:57:45] wrote

[00:57:45] about

[00:57:45] perfection

[00:57:46] and

[00:57:46] sinlessness

[00:57:47] 4,500

[00:57:48] times

[00:57:48] that I

[00:57:49] have

[00:57:49] counted

[00:57:49] and

[00:57:50] gathered

[00:57:51] on the

[00:57:51] cards

[00:57:51] in my

[00:57:52] office

[00:57:54] so

[00:57:54] that's

[00:57:54] where

[00:57:54] we

[00:57:55] are

[00:57:55] folks

[00:57:56] that's

[00:57:57] where

[00:57:57] we

[00:57:57] are

[00:58:00] and

[00:58:01] it's

[00:58:01] going

[00:58:01] to

[00:58:01] get

[00:58:01] worse

[00:58:03] maybe

[00:58:03] I

[00:58:04] told

[00:58:04] you

[00:58:04] the

[00:58:04] last

[00:58:04] time

[00:58:05] I

[00:58:12] church

[00:58:12] membership

[00:58:12] or

[00:58:13] whatever

[00:58:13] I

[00:58:13] look

[00:58:13] at

[00:58:13] them

[00:58:14] and

[00:58:14] I

[00:58:14] say

[00:58:14] cheer

[00:58:15] up

[00:58:15] it's

[00:58:15] going

[00:58:15] to

[00:58:15] get

[00:58:15] worse

[00:58:18] we

[00:58:19] are

[00:58:19] going

[00:58:19] to

[00:58:19] see

[00:58:20] things

[00:58:20] even

[00:58:21] worse

[00:58:21] than

[00:58:21] now

[00:58:22] when

[00:58:23] the

[00:58:23] words

[00:58:24] will

[00:58:24] be

[00:58:24] replaced

[00:58:25] by

[00:58:25] actions

[00:58:26] Ellen

[00:58:27] White

[00:58:27] warned

[00:58:28] us

[00:58:28] did

[00:58:28] she

[00:58:28] not

[00:58:28] that

[00:58:29] in

[00:58:29] the

[00:58:29] last

[00:58:29] days

[00:58:30] when

[00:58:30] we

[00:58:30] are

[00:58:30] called

[00:58:31] upon

[00:58:31] to

[00:58:31] bear

[00:58:32] witness

[00:58:32] for

[00:58:32] our

[00:58:32] faith

[00:58:33] in

[00:58:33] court

[00:58:33] rooms

[00:58:35] under

[00:58:35] accusation

[00:58:36] that

[00:58:36] our

[00:58:36] worst

[00:58:37] accusers

[00:58:37] will

[00:58:38] be

[00:58:38] those

[00:58:38] who

[00:58:38] once

[00:58:43] remind

[00:58:44] you

[00:58:44] of

[00:58:44] that

[00:58:46] so

[00:58:46] what

[00:58:46] shall

[00:58:47] we

[00:58:47] do

[00:58:48] look

[00:58:48] up

[00:58:48] and

[00:58:48] lift

[00:58:49] up

[00:58:49] your

[00:58:49] heads

[00:58:49] for

[00:58:49] your

[00:58:50] redemption

[00:58:50] draweth

[00:58:51] nigh

[00:58:52] it

[00:58:52] brings

[00:58:53] some

[00:58:53] comfort

[00:58:54] it

[00:58:54] actually

[00:58:54] does

[00:58:54] bring

[00:58:55] some

[00:58:55] comfort

[00:58:55] to

[00:58:55] people

[00:58:56] when

[00:58:56] I

[00:58:56] tell

[00:58:56] them

[00:58:56] it's

[00:58:56] going

[00:58:56] to

[00:58:57] get

[00:58:57] worse

[00:58:57] because

[00:58:57] that

[00:58:58] tells

[00:58:58] us

[00:58:58] that

[00:58:58] God

[00:58:59] is

[00:58:59] in

[00:58:59] control

[00:59:00] if

[00:59:01] we

[00:59:01] know

[00:59:01] what's

[00:59:01] going

[00:59:01] to

[00:59:02] happen

[00:59:02] that

[00:59:02] means

[00:59:02] somebody

[00:59:03] told

[00:59:03] us

[00:59:03] that

[00:59:03] that

[00:59:04] means

[00:59:04] the

[00:59:04] Lord

[00:59:04] is

[00:59:04] looking

[00:59:04] down

[00:59:05] he's

[00:59:05] telling

[00:59:05] us

[00:59:05] this

[00:59:06] is

[00:59:06] what

[00:59:06] you're

[00:59:06] going

[00:59:06] to

[00:59:06] go

[00:59:06] through

[00:59:07] in

[00:59:07] the

[00:59:07] last

[00:59:07] days

[00:59:07] now

[00:59:08] I

[00:59:08] had

[00:59:09] quite

[00:59:09] an

[00:59:09] adjustment

[00:59:09] to

[00:59:10] my

[00:59:10] mind

[00:59:10] on

[00:59:10] this

[00:59:10] when

[00:59:11] this

[00:59:11] first

[00:59:11] dawned

[00:59:11] on

[00:59:12] me

[00:59:12] back

[00:59:13] in

[00:59:13] the

[00:59:13] fall

[00:59:13] of

[00:59:13] 1977

[00:59:14] when

[00:59:15] I

[00:59:15] went

[00:59:15] to

[00:59:15] pastor

[00:59:16] the

[00:59:16] campus

[00:59:16] hill

[00:59:16] church

[00:59:16] in

[00:59:17] Loma

[00:59:17] Linda

[00:59:18] senior

[00:59:18] pastor

[00:59:19] there

[00:59:20] I

[00:59:21] had

[00:59:21] never

[00:59:21] before

[00:59:22] comprehended

[00:59:23] what

[00:59:23] was

[00:59:23] going

[00:59:23] on

[00:59:23] in

[00:59:23] the

[00:59:23] church

[00:59:24] it

[00:59:43] in

[00:59:44] and

[00:59:44] from

[00:59:44] 1977

[00:59:45] until

[00:59:46] now

[00:59:46] there

[00:59:46] has

[00:59:47] been

[00:59:47] a

[00:59:47] lot

[00:59:47] developing

[00:59:48] and

[00:59:48] it's

[00:59:48] going

[00:59:48] to

[00:59:48] get

[00:59:48] a

[00:59:49] lot

[00:59:49] worse

[00:59:50] but

[00:59:51] the

[00:59:52] bright

[00:59:52] side

[00:59:52] of

[00:59:52] this

[00:59:53] is

[00:59:53] that

[00:59:53] we

[00:59:53] were

[00:59:53] told

[00:59:54] in

[00:59:54] advance

[00:59:54] now

[00:59:55] I

[00:59:55] had

[00:59:55] I'll

[00:59:55] have

[00:59:56] to

[00:59:56] admit

[00:59:56] it

[00:59:56] I

[00:59:56] had

[00:59:56] a

[00:59:57] misconception

[00:59:58] that

[00:59:58] resulted

[00:59:59] from

[00:59:59] a

[00:59:59] careless

[01:00:00] reading

[01:00:00] of

[01:00:01] the

[01:00:01] spirit

[01:00:01] of

[01:00:01] prophecy

[01:00:01] I

[01:00:02] had

[01:00:02] not

[01:00:02] read

[01:00:02] it

[01:00:02] carefully

[01:00:03] enough

[01:00:04] I

[01:00:05] had

[01:00:05] read

[01:00:05] from

[01:00:06] my

[01:00:06] first

[01:00:08] years

[01:00:08] in

[01:00:09] the

[01:00:09] church

[01:00:09] I

[01:00:09] fastened

[01:00:10] on

[01:00:10] to

[01:00:10] the

[01:00:10] youth

[01:00:10] instructor

[01:00:12] and

[01:00:12] I

[01:00:13] read

[01:00:13] other

[01:00:14] things

[01:00:14] and

[01:00:15] I

[01:00:15] was

[01:00:15] preparing

[01:00:16] for

[01:00:16] missionary

[01:00:17] work

[01:00:17] I

[01:00:17] wanted

[01:00:17] to

[01:00:18] go

[01:00:18] to

[01:00:18] Africa

[01:00:18] but

[01:00:18] the

[01:00:19] Lord

[01:00:19] sent

[01:00:19] me

[01:00:19] the

[01:00:19] other

[01:00:19] direction

[01:00:20] I

[01:00:20] don't

[01:00:20] know

[01:00:20] why

[01:00:25] I'll

[01:00:40] and

[01:00:40] then

[01:00:41] we

[01:00:41] come

[01:00:41] to

[01:00:41] a

[01:00:41] crash

[01:00:42] the

[01:00:43] shaking

[01:00:43] time

[01:00:45] we

[01:00:45] don't

[01:00:45] have

[01:00:46] time

[01:00:46] to

[01:00:46] talk

[01:00:46] about

[01:00:46] that

[01:00:47] just

[01:00:47] now

[01:00:47] but

[01:00:47] I

[01:00:47] believe

[01:00:48] we're

[01:00:48] just

[01:00:48] stepping

[01:00:49] into

[01:00:49] the

[01:00:49] shaking

[01:00:50] time

[01:00:51] and

[01:00:52] it's

[01:00:52] going

[01:00:52] to

[01:00:52] clean

[01:00:53] out

[01:00:53] more

[01:00:53] than

[01:00:53] half

[01:00:54] of

[01:00:54] our

[01:00:54] membership

[01:00:55] that's

[01:00:55] written

[01:00:55] in the

[01:00:56] books

[01:00:57] it's

[01:00:57] going

[01:01:08] to

[01:01:10] people

[01:01:11] come

[01:01:11] into

[01:01:11] the

[01:01:11] church

[01:01:11] to

[01:01:12] take

[01:01:12] their

[01:01:12] places

[01:01:12] and

[01:01:13] we're

[01:01:13] told

[01:01:13] the

[01:01:13] ranks

[01:01:13] will

[01:01:13] not

[01:01:14] be

[01:01:14] diminished

[01:01:14] and

[01:01:15] then

[01:01:15] we

[01:01:16] have

[01:01:16] the

[01:01:16] glorious

[01:01:16] last

[01:01:17] events

[01:01:17] in

[01:01:17] the

[01:01:17] coming

[01:01:18] of

[01:01:18] Christ

[01:01:18] but

[01:01:18] we

[01:01:18] must

[01:01:19] not

[01:01:19] overlook

[01:01:19] that

[01:01:19] time

[01:01:20] of

[01:01:20] the

[01:01:21] shaking

[01:01:21] that

[01:01:21] crashing

[01:01:22] time

[01:01:22] I

[01:01:23] had

[01:01:23] just

[01:01:23] paid

[01:01:23] no

[01:01:24] attention

[01:01:24] to

[01:01:24] that

[01:01:24] I

[01:01:24] guess

[01:01:25] just

[01:01:25] read

[01:01:26] past

[01:01:26] it

[01:01:26] and

[01:01:26] just

[01:01:26] didn't

[01:01:27] really

[01:01:28] internalize

[01:01:28] it

[01:01:28] like

[01:01:29] I

[01:01:41] so

[01:01:41] we

[01:01:41] mustn't

[01:01:41] be

[01:01:42] like

[01:01:42] that

[01:01:43] yes

[01:01:44] there's

[01:01:45] going

[01:01:45] to

[01:01:45] be

[01:01:45] a

[01:01:45] wonderful

[01:01:45] period

[01:01:46] in

[01:01:46] the

[01:01:46] church's

[01:01:47] history

[01:01:47] right

[01:01:47] down

[01:01:47] at

[01:01:47] the

[01:01:47] end

[01:01:47] of

[01:01:48] time

[01:01:48] but

[01:01:48] before

[01:01:48] that

[01:01:48] we've

[01:01:49] got

[01:01:49] to

[01:01:49] go

[01:01:49] through

[01:01:49] the

[01:01:49] valley

[01:01:51] of

[01:01:52] the

[01:01:52] shaking

[01:01:52] and

[01:01:52] we

[01:01:52] want

[01:01:53] to

[01:01:53] make

[01:01:53] sure

[01:01:53] we

[01:01:53] come

[01:01:54] out

[01:01:54] on

[01:01:54] the

[01:01:54] other

[01:01:54] side

[01:01:56] now

[01:01:56] I

[01:01:57] won't

[01:01:57] take

[01:01:57] time

[01:01:57] for

[01:01:57] questions

[01:01:58] at

[01:01:58] this

[01:01:58] particular

[01:01:59] period

[01:01:59] but

[01:01:59] I

[01:01:59] will

[01:01:59] this

[01:02:00] afternoon

[01:02:01] and

[01:02:01] I

[01:02:02] have

[01:02:02] been

[01:02:02] asked

[01:02:02] to

[01:02:02] close

[01:02:03] with

[01:02:03] a

[01:02:03] prayer

[01:02:03] so

[01:02:03] may

[01:02:04] we

[01:02:04] kneel

[01:02:04] together

[01:02:05] at

[01:02:05] this

[01:02:05] point

[01:02:05] and

[01:02:06] pray

[01:02:17] our

[01:02:17] Lord

[01:02:17] and

[01:02:18] Father

[01:02:18] in

[01:02:18] heaven

[01:02:20] we

[01:02:20] have

[01:02:20] been

[01:02:21] sobered

[01:02:21] as

[01:02:21] we

[01:02:21] have

[01:02:22] looked

[01:02:22] at

[01:02:22] the

[01:02:22] script

[01:02:24] as

[01:02:24] we

[01:02:24] have

[01:02:24] looked

[01:02:25] at

[01:02:43] the

[01:02:43] great

[01:02:44] concern

[01:02:44] of

[01:02:44] our

[01:02:44] hearts

[01:02:45] dear

[01:02:45] Lord

[01:02:45] is

[01:02:46] that

[01:02:46] we

[01:02:46] go

[01:02:46] through

[01:02:47] the

[01:02:47] shaking

[01:02:47] time

[01:02:47] successfully

[01:02:49] that

[01:02:50] we

[01:02:50] hold

[01:02:50] fast

[01:02:51] to

[01:02:51] our

[01:02:51] faith

[01:02:51] and

[01:02:51] not

[01:02:52] be

[01:02:52] shaken

[01:02:52] out

[01:02:53] may

[01:02:54] we

[01:02:54] settle

[01:02:54] into

[01:02:55] the

[01:02:55] truth

[01:02:55] so

[01:02:55] firmly

[01:02:56] that

[01:02:56] nothing

[01:02:57] no

[01:02:57] authority

[01:02:58] no

[01:02:58] opposition

[01:02:59] no

[01:02:59] persecution

[01:03:00] no

[01:03:00] opposition

[01:03:01] of

[01:03:01] any

[01:03:01] kind

[01:03:02] can

[01:03:03] turn

[01:03:03] us

[01:03:03] away

[01:03:03] from

[01:03:03] our

[01:03:04] Lord

[01:03:04] Jesus

[01:03:04] Christ

[01:03:06] we

[01:03:07] want

[01:03:07] to

[01:03:07] consecrate

[01:03:08] our

[01:03:08] lives

[01:03:08] totally

[01:03:09] and

[01:03:09] fully

[01:03:09] and

[01:03:09] completely

[01:03:09] to

[01:03:10] thee

[01:03:11] on

[01:03:12] thou

[01:03:12] be

[01:03:12] with

[01:03:13] us

[01:03:14] as

[01:03:14] we

[01:03:14] go

[01:03:14] on

[01:03:15] our

[01:03:15] way

[01:03:15] that

[01:03:15] we

[01:03:16] may

[01:03:16] walk

[01:03:17] carefully

[01:03:17] wisely

[01:03:18] with

[01:03:19] thee

[01:03:20] and

[01:03:20] be

[01:03:20] getting

[01:03:21] stronger

[01:03:21] in

[01:03:21] the

[01:03:21] Lord

[01:03:22] every

[01:03:22] day

[01:03:22] in

[01:03:22] spite

[01:03:23] of

[01:03:23] all

[01:03:23] the

[01:03:23] evil

[01:03:23] that

[01:04:15] do

[01:04:15] we

[01:04:16] do

[01:04:16] to

[01:04:16] to

[01:04:16] to
