[00:26:51] Jesus is coming the second time to resurrect his people from the dead

[00:26:56] And to change the vile bodies of his saints

[00:26:58] To be like his glorious body

[00:27:01] Christ is longing to be reunited with those

[00:27:05] Who have maintained a loving and saving relationship with him

[00:27:09] The Lord Jesus Christ is coming a second time

[00:27:12] To give his people the finishing touch of immortality

[00:29:14] Throughout the whole of the great controversy

[00:29:17] Between Christ and Satan upon this earth

[00:29:20] The promise that Christ will give eternal life to his people

[00:29:23] Is what all the Bible-believing Christians

[00:29:26] Have based their faith upon

[00:29:30] Now when is the second coming of Jesus?

[00:29:34] We read in the book of Matthew chapter 24

[00:29:36] Verses 1 to 3

[00:29:39] And Jesus went out and departed from the temple

[00:29:42] And his disciples came to him

[00:29:45] For to show him the buildings of the temple

[00:29:48] And Jesus said unto them

[00:29:50] See ye not all these things?

[00:29:54] Verily, I say unto you

[00:29:56] There shall not be left here one stone upon another

[00:29:59] That shall not be thrown down

[00:30:02] And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives

[00:30:04] The disciples came unto him privately

[00:30:07] Saying

[00:31:18] Jesus then gave them a prophetic view

[00:31:20] Of the future events that his church would face

[00:31:25] Until he comes back the second time

[00:31:29] These are listed in Matthew chapter 24

[00:31:34] And also in other parts of the Bible

[00:31:37] Like in Mark, Luke, John, Timothy, Thessalonians, Peter, etc.

[00:31:46] In the books of Daniel and Revelation

[00:33:45] This is a prophecy

[00:33:47] That indicates very clearly

[00:33:49] A sequence of events

[00:33:51] Placed in chronological order

[00:33:54] Which is very very clear

[00:33:56] And precise in the manner in which it is given

[00:33:59] In other words there is no way in which anyone could possibly

[00:34:03] Misunderstand not only the subject matter

[00:34:06] But also the chronological sequence

[00:34:09] There is just no way

[00:34:11] So for example

[00:34:12] When you look at this vision

[00:34:14] That was given by God to Nebuchadnezzar

[00:34:17] And Daniel gave the interpretation of it to him

[00:34:20] He talks about that he saw this

[00:34:23] Nebuchadnezzar saw an image

[00:34:24] Of a man who his head was of gold

[00:34:28] His breast and arms were of silver

[00:34:30] His belly and thighs were of brass

[00:34:32] Legs of iron

[00:34:33] And his feet were made of iron and clay

[00:34:35] And then he saw a stone cut out without hands

[00:34:39] And this stone came and smote the image upon its feet

[00:34:43] And from among that

[00:34:46] Arose up a great, great mountain

[00:34:50] Which is representative of a kingdom

[00:34:53] And so here comes this kingdom

[00:34:55] Out of the ashes of the previous kingdoms

[00:34:59] That fell and disappeared under the weight and might

[00:35:04] Of this rock that came and smote it

[00:35:07] So what happens is this depicts

[00:35:10] It's an image of what is to be

[00:35:13] And Daniel even tells Nebuchadnezzar

[00:35:16] Eventually how you can pinpoint

[00:35:18] The beginning of the sequence of events

[00:35:22] By stating you, Nebuchadnezzar

[00:35:25] You are the head of gold

[00:35:26] In other words, this is symbolic

[00:35:28] So if Babylon represents the head of gold

[00:35:32] Then the breast and arms of silver

[00:35:34] Must mean another kingdom would come after Babylon

[00:35:37] So you just start working your way down

[00:35:40] Chronologically based on the prophecy

[00:35:43] And the historical events

[00:35:44] That fulfill these characteristics

[00:35:47] So if you look at it from a chronological standpoint

[00:35:50] You have Babylon, mid of Persia

[00:35:52] Then you have the belly and thighs of brass

[00:35:54] Which is Greece, the legs of iron

[00:35:56] Which is Rome, pagan Rome of course

[00:36:00] And the feet and iron of clay

[00:36:02] Representing the destruction of the

[00:36:05] The western Roman Empire

[00:36:06] By the Germanic tribes

[00:36:08] That would divide the kingdom in the west

[00:36:11] Up to ten kingdoms

[00:36:12] It also clearly indicates

[00:36:15] The indication of the metal and the clay

[00:36:19] Representing church and state

[00:36:20] How that they will attempt to unite these things

[00:36:23] That God has never said that we should put them

[00:36:27] In a unity

[00:36:29] It's called an unholy alliance

[00:36:32] Or as Revelation actually depicts it

[00:36:35] As fornication

[00:36:36] An immoral act against God

[00:36:39] So if we look at these

[00:36:40] In chronological sequence

[00:36:42] So here we are in Babylon

[00:36:43] 606 to 538 BC

[00:36:46] Then we go down to the breast and arms of silver

[00:36:49] 538 to 331 BC

[00:36:50] Then we go down to the belly and thighs of brass

[00:36:54] Representing Greece from 331 to 168 BC

[00:36:57] We then go to the pagan Roman Empire

[00:36:59] By the legs of iron

[00:37:00] From 168 BC

[00:37:02] All the way to AD 476

[00:37:04] Again we are talking about the western part of the Roman Empire

[00:37:07] And then you look at the iron and clay

[00:37:10] And then from 476 AD

[00:37:12] You are looking all the way down

[00:37:14] From that point to the last days

[00:37:17] And the next event is the stone coming

[00:37:21] Cut out without hands

[00:37:22] And is going to come and smash the image on its feet

[00:37:26] Ending all earthly kingdoms

[00:37:28] And establishing

[00:37:30] A eternal kingdom

[00:37:33] That will never end

[00:37:34] Which is the eternal kingdom of God

[00:37:37] As depicted clearly in scripture

[00:37:39] So if you look at that from a chronological sequence

[00:37:42] And we know clearly the impact of this prophecy

[00:37:46] We now know emphatically

[00:37:49] Emphatically

[00:37:50] That we are down

[00:37:52] In the toes of the iron and the clay

[00:37:55] So we know

[00:37:56] Just from Daniel 2 alone

[00:37:59] We now know emphatically

[00:38:00] We are living in the last days of earth's history

[00:38:03] So the next event then

[00:38:05] That we can anticipate

[00:38:07] Based on the accuracy of Daniel chapter 2

[00:38:09] Is the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ

[00:38:13] So here we have Daniel 2 now

[00:38:15] This becomes the benchmark

[00:38:16] Upon which you now anchor yourself

[00:38:18] In the sequence of events

[00:38:20] That would transpire

[00:38:22] That lead us all the way up to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ

[00:38:24] We now know

[00:38:25] We are living

[00:38:27] In the final moments of earth's history

[00:38:29] Now the next prophecy again

[00:38:31] We're just going to quickly go through

[00:38:33] And I recommend

[00:39:04] Now once again you look at these seven churches

[00:39:07] And when you look at the seven churches

[00:39:08] We now know what it really means

[00:39:10] Is seven time periods

[00:39:12] Indicating the seven ages of the church

[00:39:15] Meaning the Christian church

[00:39:17] And again we're not talking about the Jewish church

[00:39:19] In the covenant with Abraham

[00:39:22] And so forth

[00:39:23] We're talking about the Christian church that began

[00:39:26] And what the church of Ephesus has indicated in the prophecy

[00:39:30] And we know the chronological period

[00:39:33] Now once again I want to say

[00:39:34] Before I go any further

[00:39:36] These dates

[00:39:38] That I'm giving to you

[00:39:39] You might have some

[00:39:43] Various

[00:39:45] There may be a variation

[00:39:47] Of a year here or there

[00:39:50] But basically this is the general period

[00:39:53] So you know as I say

[00:39:56] If you feel that maybe the dates should be modified

[00:39:58] Slightly here and there

[00:40:00] Fine

[00:40:01] But the general period cannot change

[00:40:04] And the sequence of the order cannot change

[00:40:06] So this is very clear

[00:40:08] So when you start to look for example

[00:40:10] You have the church of Ephesus

[00:40:11] Then you have Smyrna

[00:40:12] Then you have Pergamos

[00:40:13] Then Thyatira

[00:40:15] Then you have Sardis

[00:40:16] You have Philadelphia

[00:40:17] And finally we have come to the church of Laodicea

[00:40:20] So if you look at the seven time periods

[00:40:22] Of the Christian era

[00:40:24] We know based on these characteristics

[00:40:27] Given within the prophecies

[00:40:29] For example we know Ephesus starts from AD 31

[00:40:32] All the way to 100

[00:40:33] Now some people will like to say

[00:40:35] I'm just going to illustrate my point of the variations

[00:40:37] Of the time period

[00:40:39] But the general principle stays the same

[00:40:43] Some indicate that the seven

[00:40:46] The church of Ephesus should

[00:40:47] Perhaps should start in 27

[00:40:49] The baptism of Jesus

[00:40:50] Some say it should be in 34

[00:40:52] The stoning of Stephen

[00:40:54] And so forth

[00:40:55] Now look I'm not going to make a big issue out of that

[00:40:57] I'm not going to argue over those things

[00:40:59] If that's how you want to

[00:41:02] Indicate that

[00:41:03] Again

[00:41:05] The one thing that we can all agree upon

[00:41:07] It represents the apostolic age

[00:41:10] That first century

[00:41:11] So if we can understand that

[00:41:13] Based on the evidence

[00:41:14] We're in good shape

[00:41:16] So here we find from AD 31

[00:41:18] All the way to 100

[00:41:20] This is the period

[00:41:21] Time period

[00:41:22] Time frame of the church of Ephesus

[00:41:24] So from that point

[00:41:26] Once again you have a linchpin

[00:41:27] So now you have a cornerstone

[00:41:29] That you can build something on

[00:41:30] It's something that's critical

[00:41:32] So we now know Smyrna must come after

[00:41:34] The first century

[00:41:36] So what do we have?

[00:41:37] So we have Smyrna from AD 100

[00:41:39] To all the way to 323

[00:41:41] So there's the church of Smyrna

[00:41:44] Then you come to Pergamos

[00:41:45] And again the characteristics and all the identifying marks

[00:41:48] And keeping in context of the order in which they're given

[00:41:52] We now know that the church of Pergamos must be AD 323 to 538

[00:41:59] Thyatira comes right after

[00:42:01] From 538 to 1517

[00:42:04] Again of course 1517 being Martin Luther nailing the 95 Thesis

[00:42:08] And so forth

[00:42:10] So if you look at that

[00:42:11] And the great protest of Martin Luther

[00:42:14] Now again that can be varied

[00:42:15] You can change that to 321

[00:42:17] You can change it to 329

[00:42:19] Or 15

[00:42:23] Or however you want to frame it in that regard

[00:42:51] 1517 to 1798

[00:42:55] And then we come to the church of Philadelphia

[00:42:58] Right after that from 1798 all the way to 1843

[00:43:03] And then we come to the church of Laodicea

[00:43:06] Now what's interesting when you look at Laodicea

[00:43:08] We know Laodicea has a time when God is going to judge mankind

[00:43:14] And so we start from AD 1844

[00:43:19] The following year of Philadelphia

[00:43:21] And we then leads up all the way to the second coming of Jesus

[00:43:25] So just based on this prophecy alone

[00:43:28] Again, even if we were to isolate it from Daniel 2

[00:43:30] We know from the sequence of events

[00:43:33] The chronology clearly indicates

[00:43:34] We're in the seventh age of the church period

[00:43:38] Which is Laodicea

[00:43:39] Which means there is no eighth period

[00:43:42] Meaning after Laodicea

[00:43:44] Is the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ

[00:43:48] Jesus is coming during this period

[00:43:51] So it means a new heavens and a new earth

[00:43:54] So where are we chronologically?

[00:43:56] We're in the Laodicean age of the church

[00:43:59] Let me share something to our listening audience

[00:44:02] It is not enough to be a good person

[00:44:05] It's not enough to be a nice person

[00:44:09] You have to be what John declared

[00:44:12] Or Jesus, excuse me, declared to Nicodemus

[00:44:16] In John 3

[00:44:16] You have to be born again

[00:44:20] You need to be righteous

[00:44:23] There's going to be a lot of nice

[00:44:27] Decent, good people

[00:44:28] Who will never enter heaven

[00:44:32] And the reason being

[00:44:33] Is because they never

[00:44:36] Never

[00:44:37] Surrendered their lives

[00:44:38] To the Lord Jesus Christ's sovereignty

[00:44:41] Oh friends

[00:44:43] Either Jesus is Lord of your life

[00:44:45] Or he's not

[00:44:45] Either Christ is the Holy One

[00:44:48] Or he's not

[00:44:49] And friends, either Jesus sits on the throne

[00:44:52] In your heart

[00:44:53] Or he doesn't

[00:44:54] Either you're born again

[00:44:56] Or you're not

[00:44:58] I think it really does come down to that issue

[00:45:00] Of how we relate to this

[00:45:02] On a personal level

[00:45:05] You know

[00:45:07] All these things that are spoken of

[00:45:10] By Jesus to us

[00:45:12] And really frankly

[00:45:13] The prophets themselves

[00:45:16] As well as the apostles

[00:45:19] Unless there's a personal application

[00:45:22] All the theory means nothing

[00:45:26] And I appeal to everybody

[00:45:27] I really do

[00:45:28] Please, you know

[00:45:30] Surrender your heart before it's too late

[00:45:33] Don't hesitate

[00:45:34] And don't be like the Jewish people of old

[00:45:37] Who hardened their hearts in rebelliousness

[00:45:40] Thinking that they were sufficient

[00:45:44] To deal with the problems that confronted them

[00:45:48] And this world is

[00:45:49] Losing

[00:45:51] Its

[00:45:52] Its bearings

[00:45:53] And I fear that

[00:45:55] Shortly there

[00:45:58] We're going to see things that

[00:46:00] Are almost unimaginable

[00:46:03] And so I really do want to appeal to each and every one

[00:46:05] And I hope and pray to God that we do come to

[00:46:08] A clearer understanding

[00:46:12] Listeners

[00:46:14] After this sudden admonition

[00:46:16] We're going to have a break for some music

[00:46:19] And come back with our closing thoughts

[00:46:22] There is coming

[00:46:44] A day

[00:46:49] Shall come

[00:46:52] No more clouds

[00:50:45] Between Christ and Satan

[00:50:46] It reads

[00:50:50] One of the most solemn

[00:50:52] and yet most glorious truths

[00:50:54] revealed in the Bible

[00:50:55] Is that of Christ's second coming

[00:50:58] To complete the great work of redemption

[00:51:01] To God's pilgrim people

[00:51:06] So long left to sojourn

[00:51:08] In the region and shadow of death

[00:51:11] A precious

[00:51:13] Joy-inspiring hope

[00:51:14] Is given

[00:51:16] In the promise of His appearing

[00:51:18] Who is the resurrection

[00:51:20] And the life

[00:51:21] To bring home again

[00:51:24] Is banished

[00:51:26] The doctrine of the second advent

[00:51:28] Is the very keynote

[00:51:30] Of the sacred scriptures

[00:51:33] From the day

[00:51:34] When the first pair turned

[00:51:35] Their soaring steps from Eden

[00:51:38] The children of faith

[00:51:39] Have waited the coming of the promised one

[00:51:41] To break the destroyer's power

[00:51:44] And bring them again to the lost paradise

[00:51:48] Holy men of old

[00:51:50] Looked forward to the advent of the Messiah

[00:51:52] In glory

[00:51:53] As the consummation of their hope

[00:51:57] Enoch

[00:51:58] Only the seventh in descent

[00:52:00] From them that dwelt in Eden

[00:52:03] He who for three centuries on earth

[00:52:06] Walked with his God

[00:52:07] Was permitted to behold

[00:52:10] From afar the coming of the deliverer

[00:52:14] Behold, he declared

[00:52:15] The Lord cometh with ten thousand of his saints

[00:52:19] To execute judgment upon all

[00:52:21] Jude 14, 15

[00:52:23] The patriarch Job

[00:52:25] In the night of his affliction

[00:52:27] Exclaimed with unshaken trust

[00:52:30] I know that my Redeemer liveth

[00:52:40] Whom I shall see for myself

[00:52:46] The coming of the Lord

[00:52:53] The Saviour's parting promise upon Olivet

[00:52:56] That he would come again

[00:52:58] Lighted up the future for his disciples

[00:53:01] Fitting their hearts with joy and hope

[00:53:04] That sorrow could not quench

[00:53:06] Nor trials dim

[00:53:10] Amid suffering and persecution

[00:53:11] The appearing of the great God

[00:53:13] And our Saviour Jesus Christ

[00:53:15] Was the blessed hope

[00:53:18] When the Thessalonian Christians

[00:53:19] Were filled with grief

[00:53:21] As they buried their loved ones

[00:53:23] Who had hoped to live

[00:53:25] To witness the coming of the Lord

[00:53:27] Paul their teacher

[00:53:29] Pointed them to the resurrection

[00:53:31] To take place at the Saviour's advent

[00:53:34] Then the dead in Christ

[00:53:36] Would rise

[00:53:37] And together with the living

[00:53:39] Be caught up to meet the Lord

[00:53:42] And so he said

[00:53:43] Shall we ever be with the Lord

[00:55:00] And see whether we are in the faith

[00:55:03] In the faith of Jesus Christ

[00:55:06] To see whether we are growing in grace

[00:55:08] And in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ

[00:55:13] Lord I pray that we would seek for a new experience

[00:55:17] And I pray that we would

[00:55:19] Restudy out your word

[00:55:21] Your message

[00:55:22] And the message that you've given to us

[00:55:24] To give to the world at this time

[00:55:28] Lord is a heaven to win

[00:55:29] And a hell to lose

[00:55:32] And I pray Lord that we would not put the mother

[00:55:34] Or father or sister or brother

[00:55:37] Or children or neighbours or friends before you

[00:55:43] Because too many of us are heavenly father

[00:55:47] Lord help us look to see

[00:55:50] Where we are spending our time

[00:55:54] How we are spending our time

[00:55:57] Who we are spending our time with

[00:56:00] Where we are spending our money

[00:56:03] Who we are spending our money upon

[00:56:06] Lord and why we are doing things

[00:56:09] Help us to look at what we are wearing

[00:56:12] What we are eating

[00:56:14] What we are drinking

[00:56:16] How we are working

[00:56:17] How we are resting

[00:56:20] How we are conducting our whole lives

[00:56:23] Even how we are ministering heavenly father

[00:56:26] I pray in all these things Lord

[00:56:28] That we are putting you first

[00:56:33] And not doing these things for self

[00:56:36] But doing things for your honour and glory

[00:56:40] And I pray Lord

[00:56:41] If there is anyone that is listening tonight

[00:56:43] Who has never given their hearts to you

[00:56:46] That as Elder DiCarlo had said before

[00:56:49] Lord

[00:56:51] I pray that they will give their hearts to you

[00:56:52] And be born again

[00:56:56] And I pray for those even within the church

[00:57:00] Who may never even have had a born again experience

[00:57:03] I pray Lord that they will have one again

[00:57:06] And even though for those who may have fallen and slipped

[00:57:09] And backslidden

[00:57:11] And feel like there is no hope in getting back

[00:57:13] I pray that you would encourage them Lord

[00:57:17] To start again and be born again once more in you

[00:57:20] Because you have eternal power

[00:57:22] And Lord there is nothing that you cannot do

[00:57:25] But let us remember Lord

[00:57:27] That probation stores are closing

[00:57:30] And we never know

[00:57:32] If we are going to be living

[00:57:34] From one day to the next

[00:57:37] So Lord

[00:57:39] I just pray Lord

[00:57:40] That this new year will be a new life for us

[00:57:45] Simply in that we will allow your life

[00:57:48] To renew us

[00:57:50] And they will have a new experience in you

[00:57:54] Help us to keep our minds heavenward

[00:57:55] And look heavenward

[00:57:57] And I pray that each and every one listening Lord

[00:58:01] True in you
