[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_04]: discussing the current events with the Elder Ray DiCarlo of the Immanuel Missionary Institute.

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Hello, good evening. Elder DiCardo, you are live on Voice in the Wood in this Internet Radio.
[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_04]: How are you and Sister Julie keeping this evening?
[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Fine, thank you John, doing well yourself?
[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes I'm well, like was grace. Yes praise the Lord at where all keep him well.
[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Well Elder DiCardo, last week we discussed how God teaches us in the Bible
[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_04]: through the prophecies in the books of Daniel and Revelation, past, present and future events.
[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_04]: We discussed how the book of Daniel explains how the kingdoms of Babylon,
[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Meda Persia, Greece, Pagan and Papal Rome were foretold in Scripture.
[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_04]: We looked at how the book of Revelation records chronologically through the symbols of the seven churches,
[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_04]: the seven seals and the seven angels, the sequence of events that the Christian church would go through during world history.
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And looking at biblical and historical evidence we came to the conclusion that according to the Scriptures
[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_04]: we are living in the time in the seventh angel begins to sound and that Jesus Christ is soon to come.
[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Therefore we concluded that we are living in the last moments of this world's history.
[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Furthermore we discussed that God's people are not to be asleep about the signs of the times,
[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_04]: but they are called to be awake and to clearly understand them.
[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_04]: God's people are to be ready for the final crisis that is about to come upon this earth.
[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_04]: They are to be in a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and grace themselves what is coming
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_04]: so that they are not eternally lost.
[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_04]: So listeners we pray that these radio broadcasts will not only be a means of clarifying certain issues
[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_04]: that may be at the back of your mind wondering why they are happening, who is behind them
[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_04]: and when they are going to end.
[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_04]: We pray that these radio broadcasts will strengthen your faith in God's Word

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Our Father in Heaven once again we come in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ
[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_00]: and we ask that you please watch over us and bless us as we spend this time to meditate upon your Word
[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_00]: regarding the nature of those things that you have written for us
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_00]: to be prepared for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I pray that you'll be with John as he leads out in this thing
[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_00]: and this wonderful study that we take up and that you'll be with me as well.
[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Help me dear God, I pray and bless the listeners.
[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_00]: So keep us now we pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Elder DeCarlo once more I'd just like to read from Matthew chapter 16 and verses 1 to 3.
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And the Bible reads,
[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_04]: The Pharisees also with the Soduses came and tempting desired him,
[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_04]: this is Jesus, that he would show them a sign from heaven.
[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_04]: He Jesus answered them and said unto them,
[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_04]: When it is evening you say it shall be fair weather for the sky is red
[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_04]: and in the morning it will be foul weather today for the sky is red and lowing.
[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_04]: All your hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky
[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_04]: but can you not discern the signs of the times?
[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And so once again we see from the Bible that the signs of the times
[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_04]: is a subject that comes from Jesus himself.
[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a subject of heavenly origin.
[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_04]: So Elder DeCarlo excuse me,
[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_04]: what would you like to share as opening thoughts this evening about this and this today?
[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Well you know last week we ended our discussion dealing with 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 verses 1 through 11.
[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_00]: We talked about the day of the Lord coming as a thief and the night,
[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_00]: again not secretly but unexpectedly to those who do not watch and pray
[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_00]: for the coming of the Lord
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_00]: and how that it becomes a very significant sign of the last days.
[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I want to actually go to the next book actually in 2 Thessalonians taking up Paul's argument
[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_00]: regarding the nature of the signs of the times relative to the issue of the second coming of Jesus
[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_00]: and here in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 and starting with verse 1.
[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Now the reason I want to take a time on this because
[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_00]: this is one of the most fascinating prophecies in all the Bible regarding
[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_00]: not only the second coming but the signs of the times connected to the second coming.
[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Now what's fascinating here, Paul makes it very clear there are two distinguishing things that must happen
[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_00]: before Christ can return.
[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So in other words these two signs are so important.
[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Paul writes in 2 Thessalonians these two significant signs
[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_00]: and he identifies them. He lays them out very plain if you understand the meaning of what Paul is saying here
[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_00]: and so he lays them out in order that we may clearly know really the sequence of events.
[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_00]: In other words these two things must take place then you have the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_00]: So again we're looking at where are we in the history of this world.
[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_00]: So let's take a look here in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 we'll start with verse 1.
[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Paul says now,
[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_00]: As that day of Christ is at hand. I mean it is stopped here because he's really brought out some very important things.
[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_00]: In Paul's day the saints were troubled regarding the nature of the manner of the second coming to the Lord Jesus Christ.
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_00]: They weren't sure they thought well maybe he's coming in our day and so forth
[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_00]: and Paul makes it clear says look hang on I don't want you all getting troubled now calm down.
[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_00]: He says and by the way which fascinating here he tells them I don't want you to be troubled either by spirit nor by word
[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_00]: nor by letter as from us as though it were from us so that we now know Paul clearly indicates that in his day
[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_00]: not just in his day but prior to and continuing on and even after there were counterfeit letters being written
[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_00]: as though they were passed off from the apostles themselves and Paul says they're not they're not from us
[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_00]: and these letters were causing troubles in the church.
[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And so by the way just as a footnote argument or just to you know share something with our listeners
[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_00]: by the way this proves this proves that just because certain manuscripts are claimed to be older than other manuscripts
[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_00]: and talking about Greek and so forth that doesn't mean they're the most accurate
[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_00]: because we have here a letters written claiming to be from Paul and the apostles
[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_00]: and we know them to be false in their counterfeit so just because something was written
[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_00]: you know before say second Thessalonians doesn't mean it's more accurate
[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_00]: and so this very fascinating counterfeit letters being written and again it brings out a very significant point
[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_00]: but the point is here that says that that referring to that day of Christ at hand
[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_00]: so people were talking about how that this was a false or counterfeit second coming
[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Paul is dealing with this issue he says now let no man deceive you by any means
[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_00]: for that day shall not come except now he qualifies the second coming of Christ cannot take place
[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_00]: except they come falling away first that's number one and then number two is
[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_00]: that the man of sin be revealed the son of perdition who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worship
[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_00]: so that he has God sits in the temple of God shown himself that he is God
[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_00]: now these two significant signs are so critical Paul says these two things must take place before
[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_00]: the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and one the first one let's talk about this the falling away
[00:15:03] [SPEAKER_00]: now in the Greek means apostasy there's an apostasy that must happen
[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_00]: and we've seen this in terms of the historical context even in Paul's day
[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_00]: we see a falling away the false letters being written apostasy taking place
[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_00]: church members going astray with false doctrine and so forth
[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_00]: but it has a more significant impact even relevant to the last days as well
[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_00]: in other words we see a continuation from Paul's day
[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_00]: and really throughout Christianity a continuation of a falling away from apostolic purity
[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_00]: that's the essence of the argument that Paul is making
[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_00]: and so there's a falling away from apostolic Christianity
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_00]: but it will reach a peak in the last days
[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_00]: so when you see great apostasy in Christianity
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_00]: a falling away from the word of the Lord and the biblical truths that God has indicated
[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_00]: then you may know that's one of the clear signs that Jesus is about to come
[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_00]: and a matter of fact let's just go real quick
[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_00]: let's go to 1 Timothy chapter 4
[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_00]: 1 Timothy chapter 4
[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_00]: and look with me here 1 Timothy chapter 4
[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_00]: and Paul's going to dovetail
[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_00]: precisely what we've just talked about here
[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_00]: he says this in 1 Timothy chapter 4 verse 1
[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_00]: now the Spirit speaks expressly that in the latter times or in the last days
[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_00]: some shall depart from the faith so there's that apostasy the falling away
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_00]: some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils
[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_00]: speaking lies in hypocrisy
[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_00]: and so much so it says they're having their conscience seared with a hot iron
[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_00]: now forbidding them married that's very interesting because that's referring to celibacy
[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_00]: and abstaining from commanding to abstain from meats which God has created to be received
[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_00]: with thanksgiving which believe and know the truth
[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_00]: so in other words there are those in certain particular church
[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_00]: that at least at one point in time commanded people to abstain from meeting clean meats
[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_00]: meats that God had appointed that were clean to eat
[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_00]: and so you find that these things are very clear
[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_00]: when you look at the church that really fulfilled
[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_00]: then we know this was the church of Rome there's no question about it
[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_00]: this is an advocate of identifying Mark's regarding the nature of the church of Rome
[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_00]: so what we find here is a falling away and the falling away culminates in the
[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_00]: in the development of the rise of papal Rome
[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_00]: so first that's the learning excuse me first Timothy 4 1 to 5
[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_00]: talks about that departure from the faith
[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_00]: so now let's go back into 2 Thessalonians
[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_00]: let's go back into 2 Thessalonians chapter 2
[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_00]: so we have this falling away this apostasy
[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_00]: and matter of fact if we really want to get into even further on that
[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_00]: let me just show you by the way we have since we have our readers here
[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_00]: well I want you to turn with me to the book of Revelation real quick
[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_00]: and Revelation we talked a little bit about this last week
[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_00]: but we didn't get really too far which is kind of a reference to it
[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_00]: but I'll show you something here about the falling away the apostasy
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_00]: now we're looking here in Revelation chapter 3
[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_00]: and we're looking now at verse 14 and we're talking about the 7th church
[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_00]: now remember the seven churches correspond not all in every aspect
[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_00]: to the seven seals and so forth
[00:18:31] [SPEAKER_00]: so they have a very interesting chronological sequence
[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_00]: we know that the Laodicean church is the last phase
[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_00]: or church age in the world
[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_00]: right starts from the Ephesus and works its way down in chronological order
[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_00]: so here we have it says in verse 14
[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_00]: until the angel of the church of the Laodiceans right
[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_00]: these things say the amen the faithful and true witness
[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_00]: the beginning of the creation of God
[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_00]: he says I know your works that thou art neither cold nor hot
[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I would prefer he said you were cold or hot
[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_00]: he says so then because you are lukewarm neither cold nor hot
[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I will spew thee out of my mouth
[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_00]: now clearly these words pronounced by Jesus
[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_00]: indicates the condition of the Christian church
[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_00]: in the last days just prior to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ
[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and let me tell you that's not a pleasant commentary
[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_00]: he's in essence telling us that the Laodicean church
[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_00]: will be a church in apostasy
[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_00]: a church that's fallen away
[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_00]: now let me explain something as well
[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_00]: because I don't want people to misconstrue the meaning of the
[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_00]: the true meaning of everything that's being revealed here
[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_00]: as though we don't have a balanced perspective
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_00]: there is going to be a remnant
[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_00]: who in the last days will be faithful to God
[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_00]: now for example you go to Revelation 12 verse 17
[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_00]: and the dragon was wrothed with the woman
[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_00]: that being the course of the church
[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_00]: the dragon is Satan
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_00]: and went to make war with the remnant of her seed
[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_00]: now he identifies who these people are
[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_00]: which keep the commandments of God
[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_00]: and have the testimony of Jesus
[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_00]: so despite the fact that God is describing Laodicea
[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_00]: as a church in apostasy
[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_00]: there are going to be those in the church
[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_00]: who are faithful and true to Jesus Christ
[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_00]: they're called the remnant
[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_00]: and these people are identified as those
[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_00]: who keep the commandments of God
[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and have the testimony of Jesus
[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_00]: of the faith of Jesus Christ
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_00]: so Laodicea
[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Laodicea is a church in apostasy
[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_00]: it's a church that's fallen by the wayside
[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_00]: now what's interesting is says
[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_00]: in regard to the nature of the church of Laodicea
[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_00]: he says now know it's not that our wretched busy
[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_00]: poor blind and naked
[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_00]: you don't realize your true condition
[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_00]: and what's interesting is not that they can't
[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_00]: discover their true condition
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_00]: John they don't want to know their true condition
[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_00]: and why is this important
[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_00]: because in the last days we are told
[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_00]: we are told very specifically
[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_00]: in the last days
[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_00]: in 2 Timothy go to 2 Timothy now
[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_00]: let's go to 2 Timothy
[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_00]: and the last days you're going to show you
[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_00]: what God says is going to happen to the church
[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_00]: when those who don't want to hear the truth
[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_00]: 2 Timothy chapter 2
[00:21:11] [SPEAKER_00]: excuse me I'm sorry
[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_00]: 2 Timothy chapter 4
[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_00]: 2 Timothy chapter 4
[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_00]: and we're looking here verse 1
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Paul says to Timothy
[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I charge thee therefore before God
[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_00]: before God and our Lord and the Lord Jesus Christ
[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_00]: who shall judge the living and the dead
[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_00]: at his appearing and his kingdom
[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_00]: he says preach the word
[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_00]: be instant in season and out of season
[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_00]: reprove rebuke
[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_00]: exhort with all long suffering and doctrine
[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_00]: for the time will come
[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_00]: and this is in the last days
[00:21:41] [SPEAKER_00]: when they will not endure sound doctrine
[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_00]: but after their own lusts
[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_00]: or their own desires selfishness
[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_00]: desires shall they heap unto themselves
[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_00]: teachers having itching ears
[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_00]: they shall turn away their ears from the truth
[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_00]: and shall be turned unto fables
[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_00]: he said but watch now and all things
[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_00]: endure afflictions
[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_00]: do the work of an evangelist
[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_00]: and make fool proof of thy ministry
[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_00]: so what do we have
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_00]: we have confirmation that in the last days
[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_00]: that we have
[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_00]: members in the church
[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_00]: who do not want to hear the truth
[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_00]: because they don't want to know
[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_00]: really what's going on
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and what it really
[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_00]: relegates itself to John is they don't
[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_00]: want to repent of their sins
[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_00]: so now here we are in 2nd Thessalonians
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_00]: again we come back
[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_00]: we have a falling away
[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_00]: now we've confirmed from Scripture
[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_00]: that in the last days there will be
[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_00]: a falling away and I think if anybody
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_00]: looks at what's happening

[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_00]: capitulating

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_00]: but we're also seeing
[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_00]: what's interesting is
[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_00]: we're seeing
[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_00]: there is a separation
[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_00]: and a unity taking place
[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_00]: we're seeing a massive shaking
[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_00]: taking place within Christianity
[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_00]: some people are waking up to the
[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_00]: realization things are not adding up
[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_00]: and not just in government
[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_00]: but in religion and particularly Christianity
[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_00]: and so they're starting
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_00]: to search now the Word of God
[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_00]: more than they've ever done before
[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_00]: and so we're seeing an awakening
[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_00]: people are starting to awaken
[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_00]: and realize maybe
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_00]: we're being misled by these
[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_00]: now what they classify
[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_00]: as a false minister
[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_00]: or preacher
[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_00]: so it's a fascinating
[00:23:35] [SPEAKER_00]: study I wish we had more time
[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_00]: but we must move forward
[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_00]: but so there's a falling away
[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_00]: very critical
[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_00]: very critical
[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I want you to look with me now

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_00]: the first things are falling away
[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_00]: the second thing is that the man of sin

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_00]: is very interesting this
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_00]: the same as the little horn of Daniel 7
[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_00]: he's the
[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_00]: again the little horn of Daniel 8
[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_00]: now in Daniel 8 let me be fair
[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_00]: and put everything in context
[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_00]: the little horn is not exactly the same
[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_00]: as Daniel 7
[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_00]: because in Daniel 7
[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_00]: the little horn is exclusively
[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Rome, papal Rome
[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_00]: in Daniel 8
[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_00]: the little horn is an
[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_00]: infusion of two powers pagan and papal Rome
[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_00]: so
[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_00]: there's a little difference in that regard
[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_00]: so in the second
[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_00]: phase of the little horn of Daniel 8
[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_00]: this parallels then it has
[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_00]: the king of the north of Daniel 11
[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_00]: the man of sin of 2 Thessalonians
[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_00]: he's known as
[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_00]: the mother of harlots
[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_00]: the Babylon the great
[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_00]: of Revelation 17 and 18
[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_00]: and the composite beast
[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_00]: of Revelation 13 the first beast
[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_00]: so it has
[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_00]: many different descriptions
[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_00]: but it's the same power
[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_00]: and of course again as we look at all
[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_00]: the identifying marks we see everything that
[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_00]: God lays out in his word
[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_00]: there's no doubt who that power is
[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_00]: and then let me give you another
[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_00]: classical identifying mark
[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_00]: that sometimes is missed in 2 Thessalonians
[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_00]: now please notice it says
[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_00]: he opposes and exalts himself
[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_00]: above all that is called God
[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_00]: or that is worship so that he has God
[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_00]: not that he is God but he claims
[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_00]: to be God
[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_00]: he sits in the temple of God
[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_00]: and the temple of God here is the church
[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_00]: and so in other words
[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_00]: what is he doing what has Satan
[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_00]: done he has created a system
[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_00]: whereby he would infiltrate
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_00]: the church of Jesus Christ
[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and what brought about
[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_00]: the development of the man of sin
[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_00]: was the falling away the apostasy
[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_00]: and so the man
[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_00]: of sin would be revealed
[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_00]: he has to be exposed before
[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus comes now what's
[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_00]: fascinating he gives you in this
[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_00]: prophecy of 2 Thessalonians
[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_00]: the actual chronology
[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_00]: of these things I'm going to show you now
[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_00]: he says
[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_00]: so that he sits in the temple of God
[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_00]: showing himself that he is God
[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_00]: in other words claiming to be God
[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_00]: remember he not that when I was yet with you
[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I told you of these things
[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_00]: so Paul clearly indicated this before
[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_00]: and you know
[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_00]: now this is the key
[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I want everybody to pay attention
[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_00]: and now you know what withholds
[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_00]: that he meaning the man of sin
[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_00]: might be revealed in his time
[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_00]: something is preventing
[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_00]: the man of sin from coming
[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_00]: now let me explain something
[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_00]: why doesn't Paul simply come out
[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_00]: and stated in plain facts
[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_00]: and I'm going to tell you why he doesn't do this
[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_00]: because
[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_00]: who he's identifying
[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_00]: is the Roman pagan empire
[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_00]: under the Caesars
[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_00]: and so if Paul were to mention that
[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_00]: because Paul is actually going to
[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_00]: prophesy here the fall of pagan Rome
[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_00]: this would have brought a bloodbath
[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_00]: upon the pagan
[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_00]: or upon the Christian church
[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_00]: so he's going to speak in a language
[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_00]: that is
[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_00]: not maybe so familiar with someone
[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_00]: who may for the first time read this
[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_00]: epistle but remember
[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_00]: he said I've already told you these things
[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_00]: so the people he's addressing
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_00]: clearly understand
[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_00]: who it is that's withholding
[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_00]: or preventing the man of sin
[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_00]: from coming
[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_00]: verse 7 says for the mystery of iniquity
[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_00]: does already work again
[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_00]: referring to the apostasy
[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_00]: it's being developed now this is in Paul's day
[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_00]: he says only he who now
[00:27:29] [SPEAKER_00]: lets and that old English word
[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_00]: of course I'll have to tell you
[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_00]: and your listeners this
[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_00]: it's an old English word it means prevent
[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_00]: now he who is preventing
[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_00]: will prevent until
[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_00]: in other words this power
[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_00]: is withholding or preventing
[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_00]: the Roman
[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_00]: papal church from rising to power
[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_00]: until he
[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_00]: this power that's preventing be taken out of the way
[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_00]: in other words once you have
[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_00]: this power taken out of the way
[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_00]: then comes the rise
[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_00]: of papal Rome
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_00]: and we know who this power
[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_00]: is that's preventing
[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_00]: papal Rome from coming it's pagan Rome
[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_00]: and so he's
[00:28:11] [SPEAKER_00]: given you a chronological sequence
[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_00]: and therefore we now
[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_00]: know based on this prophecy as well
[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_00]: as confirmation from Daniel
[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_00]: 7 and so forth
[00:28:20] [SPEAKER_00]: that this is referring to
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_00]: the fall of pagan Rome
[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_00]: and the rise of papal Rome
[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_00]: and we know this takes place
[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_00]: in terms of its establishment
[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_00]: in 538 under just any
[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_00]: his decree when it goes into effect
[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_00]: now it was issued in 533
[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_00]: but went into effect in 538
[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_00]: and so we know then
[00:28:41] [SPEAKER_00]: that from that point
[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_00]: the man of sin would be established
[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_00]: in his full power
[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_00]: and this is of course referring to the
[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_00]: excuse me the 1260 days
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_00]: or time times half of time
[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_00]: 42 months
[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_00]: so here you have this very powerful prophecy
[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_00]: very powerful
[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_00]: prophecy indicating
[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_00]: that two things have to happen falling away
[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_00]: and the man of sin
[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_00]: has to be revealed
[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_00]: so we don't need to wait for
[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_00]: the revelation of the Antichrist
[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_00]: he's been here for nearly 1500 years
[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_00]: and so
[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_00]: all of this is clearly indicated
[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_00]: and again there are great
[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_00]: books that
[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_00]: can be written down
[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I made reference to it last week
[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_00]: and Eurya Smith's book Daniel Revelation
[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_00]: gives a wonderful dissertation
[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_00]: regarding these things
[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_00]: thinking of H. Bratton Guinness
[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_00]: in his book
[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Romanism
[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and
[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's
[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Romanism
[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_00]: or prophecy and Romanism
[00:29:43] [SPEAKER_00]: or something like that

[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_04]: the Christian experience if you're not
[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_04]: careful the individual
[00:30:30] [SPEAKER_04]: you can have your first love
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_04]: experience
[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_04]: be faithful
[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_04]: but then if you're not careful
[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_04]: and allow the enemy to come in
[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_04]: with his ideas
[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_04]: you fall away and then instead of Christ
[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_04]: being revealed in you the man of sin
[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_04]: you know Satan
[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_04]: himself
[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_04]: beautiful
[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and that's basically the moral lesson
[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_04]: that's the moral lesson that's being
[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_04]: brought out in these scriptures
[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_04]: because
[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_04]: the prophetic word has a moral purpose
[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_04]: the bible has a moral purpose which is
[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_04]: personal salvation from sin
[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_04]: unless you listen to
[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Christ
[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_04]: unless his voice is the one that's
[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_04]: leading and guiding you
[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_04]: in your life then Satan
[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_04]: is going to try to come to you with his false
[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_04]: doctrines and ideas
[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_04]: and those
[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_04]: will cause you to sin
[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_04]: and fall away and instead of Christ
[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_04]: being revealed in you Satan
[00:31:29] [SPEAKER_04]: that's his whole purpose he wants to
[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_04]: face the character of God from the human
[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_04]: race
[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_04]: for men to reflect
[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_04]: his fiendish image
[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_04]: so that's just the lesson
[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_04]: that I'm drawing from that
[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_04]: and really that the Lord would like us to draw
[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_04]: so carry on please
[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_04]: that's just what I thought I'd share from the point that you

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_00]: that was beautifully articulated

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_00]: know all these things regarding the nature

[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_00]: from our own hearts
[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_00]: the love of God and you're referring to the church
[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_00]: of Ephesus they lost their first
[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_00]: love and then slowly
[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_00]: you see that apostasy developing
[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_00]: and you're right
[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_00]: John it's so true
[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_00]: and I hope our listeners will understand
[00:32:40] [SPEAKER_00]: that the whole purpose
[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_00]: not just this
[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_00]: program that we're doing today

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_00]: the ministry and station that you have
[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_00]: established by the Lord's grace

[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_04]: you look at how the paper
[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_04]: see has spread throughout the world
[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_04]: whether it's we politically, socially
[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_04]: ideologically
[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_04]: you know religiously
[00:33:41] [SPEAKER_04]: even environmentally financially
[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_04]: educationally scientifically
[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_04]: there's
[00:33:47] [SPEAKER_04]: the principles that have been taught
[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_04]: through the system has always been taken up
[00:33:51] [SPEAKER_04]: as a whole
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_04]: not 100% but as a whole by people
[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_04]: that once knew the truth
[00:33:57] [SPEAKER_04]: but who have compromised
[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_04]: because there was
[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_04]: aspect of the truth that they weren't happy with
[00:34:03] [SPEAKER_04]: you know and I found
[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_04]: that in my own research and it's there
[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_04]: many other researchers have seen that
[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_04]: you know there's always some
[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_04]: after for the best way I can put this is
[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_04]: gripe that a person has
[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_04]: with God is not happy with something that
[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_04]: he said you know or that he would
[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_04]: like them to do

[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_04]: as you study history and as you study
[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_04]: how the paper see has grown and how

[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_04]: it's either an aspect they haven't
[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_04]: understood or something that is just
[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_04]: as the Bible says they just don't want

[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_04]: end to in the wedge for error to come in
[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_04]: and for them to be someone
[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_04]: that he can use you see
[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_02]: mm-hmm so
[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_04]: you know even the other day
[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I read a book this was a book that
[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_04]: was dealing with feminism
[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_04]: and the writer
[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_04]: she was basically stating
[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_04]: how
[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah she had given a lot of good
[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_04]: historical research of how feminism
[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_04]: has come through paganism and you know
[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_04]: but then she
[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_04]: drafted it off with well the Protestant
[00:35:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Reformation is to blame
[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_04]: basically for this and
[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_04]: the only true faith is
[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_04]: the Orthodox Catholic
[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_04]: faith you see because the person
[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_04]: wasn't happy with what the Protestant Reformation
[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_04]: taught so

[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_04]: their own desires it's not just only physical
[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_04]: but mental desire they heap to
[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_04]: themselves teachers having itching the
[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_04]: ears you see so
[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_04]: God is true as the Bible says
[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_04]: let God be true in every man and liar
[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_04]: because you know this is
[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_04]: the actual fact of the matter

[00:36:15] [SPEAKER_00]: stated John and it's true
[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_00]: that it's interesting
[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_00]: that you bring this up I've been doing
[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_00]: some research and noticing
[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_00]: um there has been
[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_00]: a great undermining
[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_00]: of the Protestant faith
[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_00]: distortion of its history
[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_00]: yes by either
[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_00]: those who claim to be of the Protestant
[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_00]: faith or
[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_00]: who have either then
[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_00]: abandoned the Protestant faith and
[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_00]: joined
[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_00]: not just Catholic church but maybe some other
[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_00]: you know they either they become
[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Muslim or whatever
[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_00]: other faith they have adopted now
[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_00]: and so there seems
[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_00]: to be a great
[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_00]: effort made by the
[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_00]: powers that be
[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_00]: to ensure that
[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_00]: the people at large
[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_00]: do not know the true history
[00:37:07] [SPEAKER_00]: of
[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_00]: why the
[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_00]: men like
[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Luther and Calvin and Knox and
[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_00]: people like the Woldensians
[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_00]: and the Huguenots and
[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_00]: the Abagentses and the Husaites
[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and so forth all
[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_00]: stood boldly in defense
[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_00]: of faith and
[00:37:27] [SPEAKER_00]: and biblical truth
[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_00]: there needs to be a clear
[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_00]: understanding of the context of these
[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_00]: things I'm not
[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_00]: in any way suggesting any of the people
[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_00]: that I've mentioned and many others
[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_00]: were perfect far from it
[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_00]: of course the mistakes were made
[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I acknowledge that whole heartily
[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_00]: however though despite the fact that
[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_00]: mistakes were made
[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_00]: this does not negate the truth that
[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_00]: they held
[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_00]: and so you know
[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_00]: it's really amazing to me
[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_00]: how that there is an effort made by some
[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_00]: to point out
[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_00]: the discrepancies that may appear
[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_00]: within the history
[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_00]: of the Protestant faith
[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_00]: but refused to acknowledge
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_00]: the true
[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_00]: catalyst that brought the Protestant
[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_00]: faith to its
[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_00]: place in other words they refuse
[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_00]: to see or refuse
[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_00]: to discuss or talk about the true history
[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_00]: of Rome
[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_00]: and we and unless
[00:38:25] [SPEAKER_00]: you see history for what it is
[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_00]: not for what you want it to be
[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_00]: you'll never understand the true
[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_00]: events
[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_00]: you know so you're absolutely
[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_00]: right you're absolutely
[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_00]: correct about this
[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_00]: but there does seem to be
[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_00]: some effort made
[00:38:43] [SPEAKER_00]: to try to prevent
[00:38:45] [SPEAKER_00]: or pervert the historical
[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_00]: setting of the Protestant faith
[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_00]: which maybe one day maybe
[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_00]: we will take up and discuss
[00:38:53] [SPEAKER_00]: the history and the development
[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_00]: of the theories brought forth
[00:38:57] [SPEAKER_00]: by the various groups
[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_00]: and individuals who stood boldly
[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_00]: in defense of faith because it needs
[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_00]: to be reminded and again if somebody
[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_00]: would really like to learn
[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_00]: one of the most fascinating accounts
[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_00]: of the history of the rise and development
[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_00]: of the Christian church from the time
[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_00]: of Jesus Christ all the way through the dark
[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_00]: ages and so forth there's a great
[00:39:17] [SPEAKER_00]: book called the great controversy
[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_00]: by Ellen G White
[00:39:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and it is highly
[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_00]: recommended it is a
[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_00]: fascinating what I call
[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_00]: a tour de force
[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_00]: of history
[00:39:30] [SPEAKER_00]: and it's just amazing
[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_00]: just amazing and it actually
[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_00]: in the latter part
[00:39:37] [SPEAKER_00]: of the book takes you through the prophetic
[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_00]: elements of the last days
[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_00]: of verse history so it's an
[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_00]: incredible book highly
[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_00]: recommended I think
[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_00]: you'll get a clear, crisp understanding
[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_00]: of the true history of the Protestant
[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_00]: faith in regard to the nature
[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_00]: of why it rose
[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_00]: and the true nature of
[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Rome itself
[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_00]: so but now look
[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_00]: John you know what I tell you what I want to stick
[00:40:03] [SPEAKER_00]: with the we're going to go to 2 Timothy
[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_00]: and I want to look
[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_00]: here now the 2 Timothy chapter 3
[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_00]: and
[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_00]: we're going to keep dovetailing into this
[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_00]: this is dealing with the last days
[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_00]: we're talking signs of the times
[00:40:16] [SPEAKER_00]: we're dealing with these issues now
[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_00]: and in this particular case the apostasy
[00:40:22] [SPEAKER_00]: which is fascinating
[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_00]: because
[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_00]: when
[00:40:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Paul writes this
[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_00]: what's fascinating about this
[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_00]: account that I'm about to read
[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_00]: is this is not only
[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_00]: describing what's going to happen in the world
[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_00]: but more importantly he's actually describing
[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_00]: what's going to take place in the church
[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_00]: so this is dealing
[00:40:47] [SPEAKER_00]: with the falling away listen to what he says
[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_00]: he said this is
[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_00]: 2 Timothy chapter
[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_00]: 3 verse 1
[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_00]: this though also that
[00:40:57] [SPEAKER_00]: in the last days perilous time
[00:40:59] [SPEAKER_00]: shall come
[00:41:01] [SPEAKER_00]: for men shall be lovers of their own
[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_00]: selves now let's stop right there
[00:41:05] [SPEAKER_00]: first of course we have to understand
[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_00]: lovers of their own cells
[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_00]: has several applications
[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_00]: one in mankind
[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_00]: become selfish they internalize all
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_00]: their desires instead of being
[00:41:16] [SPEAKER_00]: selfless they become
[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_00]: selfish and instead
[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_00]: of being Christ like as you
[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_00]: said John they become a very
[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_00]: demonic in their behavior because
[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_00]: everything is internalized it's what gratifies
[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_00]: them not
[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_00]: you know not loving your neighbor
[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_00]: as yourself this crisis commanded us
[00:41:34] [SPEAKER_00]: so they'll be lovers
[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_00]: of their own selves but it also
[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_00]: refers to the immorality
[00:41:40] [SPEAKER_00]: of man men shall be lovers of their
[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_00]: own selves and again this
[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_00]: also applies to the
[00:41:46] [SPEAKER_00]: the immoral
[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_00]: behavior of man men loving
[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_00]: men and other is men
[00:41:52] [SPEAKER_00]: sexually involved with men women with
[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_00]: women and so forth and it
[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_00]: encompasses all of that but we see
[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_00]: a moral decay
[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_00]: men should be lovers of their own cells
[00:42:02] [SPEAKER_00]: they goes on to say covetous
[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_00]: boastful proud blasphemers
[00:42:06] [SPEAKER_00]: disobedient to parents
[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_00]: unthankful unholy
[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_00]: and again now without
[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_00]: natural affection
[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah now without natural
[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_00]: affection and again you know there's
[00:42:18] [SPEAKER_00]: you know not having empathy
[00:42:20] [SPEAKER_00]: or compassion towards
[00:42:21] [SPEAKER_00]: anybody you know it's just it's
[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_00]: incredible but by the way we're seeing
[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_00]: all these things before very eyes today
[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean it's amazing
[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_00]: the immorality that is
[00:42:31] [SPEAKER_00]: being paraded before us
[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_00]: and it says truce breakers
[00:42:35] [SPEAKER_00]: you know people they won't even
[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_00]: they won't even keep their word
[00:42:39] [SPEAKER_00]: there was a day I was doing
[00:42:41] [SPEAKER_00]: some kind of research I don't remember exactly
[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I came across this
[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_00]: this
[00:42:48] [SPEAKER_00]: information you know there was
[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_00]: a day that when somebody
[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_00]: gave you their word
[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_00]: that was as good as gold
[00:42:55] [SPEAKER_00]: oh yes I mean if they made a promise
[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_00]: to you that was it that would you didn't
[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_00]: have to put a contract together
[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_00]: that was it you gave your word
[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_00]: and so your word had
[00:43:05] [SPEAKER_00]: weight it had value
[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_00]: it had meaning
[00:43:09] [SPEAKER_00]: but they'll be truce breakers
[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_00]: they will not keep any kind of
[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_00]: an agreement even if they swear to it
[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_00]: or even if they sign a
[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_00]: contractual agreement they'll
[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_00]: find some way to break it false accusers
[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_00]: falsely accusing
[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_00]: people of things they never did
[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_00]: incontinent, fierce
[00:43:27] [SPEAKER_00]: despisers of those that are
[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_00]: good and again we see the same thing
[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_00]: this same treacherous behavior
[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_00]: towards those who are endeavoring
[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_00]: to do what's right
[00:43:36] [SPEAKER_00]: traders excuse me
[00:43:38] [SPEAKER_00]: heady and high minded people
[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_00]: these are people that again
[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_00]: think more of themselves than they do other
[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_00]: and they become very
[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_00]: antagonistic
[00:43:49] [SPEAKER_00]: towards those who are endeavoring to do right
[00:43:51] [SPEAKER_00]: lovers of pleasure more than
[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_00]: lovers of God and again a very
[00:43:55] [SPEAKER_00]: selfish society
[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_00]: now but notice please listen to the language
[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_00]: having a form
[00:44:00] [SPEAKER_00]: having a form of godliness
[00:44:02] [SPEAKER_00]: because now he's going to define who these people are
[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_00]: having a form of godliness
[00:44:07] [SPEAKER_00]: but denying the power thereof
[00:44:10] [SPEAKER_00]: now let's
[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_00]: and then the closing part
[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_00]: that verses from such turn away
[00:44:15] [SPEAKER_00]: we'll talk about that in a second so that last
[00:44:17] [SPEAKER_00]: part there having a form
[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_00]: of godliness verse 5
[00:44:20] [SPEAKER_00]: but denying the power thereof
[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_00]: so these people are making a profession
[00:44:25] [SPEAKER_00]: that they're followers of God
[00:44:27] [SPEAKER_00]: that they're following there we have
[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_00]: so they give an appearance
[00:44:31] [SPEAKER_00]: they give an appearance
[00:44:33] [SPEAKER_00]: and it goes back to what you were saying John
[00:44:35] [SPEAKER_00]: unless there is an actual
[00:44:37] [SPEAKER_00]: change in the life
[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_00]: unless there is a born again experience
[00:44:42] [SPEAKER_00]: all this other stuff
[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_00]: means nothing and so
[00:44:45] [SPEAKER_00]: and so these people
[00:44:47] [SPEAKER_00]: having a form of godliness
[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_00]: but deny the power
[00:44:50] [SPEAKER_00]: they by rejecting
[00:44:52] [SPEAKER_00]: the truth by turning away
[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_00]: from doing God's will
[00:44:55] [SPEAKER_00]: they're denying the power of God's grace
[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_00]: to live a godly holy life
[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_00]: but he says from such turn away
[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_00]: now this is
[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_00]: a very fascinating
[00:45:06] [SPEAKER_00]: clause in that verse
[00:45:09] [SPEAKER_00]: because we are
[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_00]: called upon to turn away
[00:45:12] [SPEAKER_00]: from people that are living such
[00:45:14] [SPEAKER_00]: horrendous lifestyles
[00:45:16] [SPEAKER_00]: all the while claiming to be Christians
[00:45:18] [SPEAKER_00]: and so we are
[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_00]: to make sure that these people do not
[00:45:22] [SPEAKER_00]: enter into the fellowship
[00:45:24] [SPEAKER_00]: of the body of Christ
[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_00]: and we should have nothing to do with them
[00:45:28] [SPEAKER_00]: now I'm not saying you shouldn't
[00:45:30] [SPEAKER_00]: minister to them
[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_00]: but they should not be in the communion
[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_00]: of brotherly fellowship
[00:45:35] [SPEAKER_00]: in church setting
[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_00]: from such turn away
[00:45:39] [SPEAKER_00]: and be careful because they're very dangerous
[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_00]: he says this
[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_00]: now of this sort meaning
[00:45:45] [SPEAKER_00]: those who have a form of godliness
[00:45:47] [SPEAKER_00]: of this sort there are going to be those
[00:45:49] [SPEAKER_00]: that will creep into the houses
[00:45:51] [SPEAKER_00]: leading captive silly women
[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_00]: laden with sins
[00:45:55] [SPEAKER_00]: led away with divers lusts
[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_00]: ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge
[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_00]: of the truth now what is he talking about
[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_00]: and so in verses 6 and 7
[00:46:03] [SPEAKER_00]: he's talking about immorality
[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_00]: we're going to see those who are having
[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_00]: a form of godliness
[00:46:10] [SPEAKER_00]: really
[00:46:12] [SPEAKER_00]: leading
[00:46:12] [SPEAKER_00]: women
[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_00]: into an immoral lifestyle
[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_00]: who happen to be naive
[00:46:19] [SPEAKER_00]: and gullible
[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and so we're seeing a very
[00:46:23] [SPEAKER_00]: basically a fornication
[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_00]: adultery
[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_00]: running rampant in the church
[00:46:28] [SPEAKER_00]: is what he's really indicating
[00:46:30] [SPEAKER_00]: and so he goes on to talk about these things
[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_00]: he says
[00:46:38] [SPEAKER_00]: verse 8 now he says now as
[00:46:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Janus and Jambres
[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_00]: withstood Moses
[00:46:44] [SPEAKER_00]: so do also
[00:46:46] [SPEAKER_00]: these that resist the truth
[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_00]: men of corrupt minds
[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_00]: reprobate concerning the faith
[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_00]: in other words just as Moses
[00:46:54] [SPEAKER_00]: had to stand up and expose
[00:46:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Janus and Jambres
[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_00]: and
[00:47:00] [SPEAKER_00]: we too have to have an unpleasant
[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_00]: task of sometimes
[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_00]: having to lay the axe to the root
[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_00]: and call sin by its right name
[00:47:08] [SPEAKER_00]: it must be done in order to preserve
[00:47:11] [SPEAKER_00]: the church of Jesus Christ
[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_00]: and so all of this is dealing
[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_00]: with signs of the times
[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_00]: and he goes on to say finally in verse 9
[00:47:18] [SPEAKER_00]: he says
[00:47:26] [SPEAKER_00]: so in other words inevitably
[00:47:28] [SPEAKER_00]: at some point if these people persist
[00:47:31] [SPEAKER_00]: in their rebellious behavior
[00:47:32] [SPEAKER_00]: God is going to expose them
[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_00]: he's going to expose them
[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and in a due time
[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_00]: it will happen
[00:47:40] [SPEAKER_00]: so here we find
[00:47:42] [SPEAKER_00]: in 2 Timothy 3
[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_00]: one of the most unbelievable
[00:47:47] [SPEAKER_00]: prophecies
[00:47:49] [SPEAKER_00]: indicating
[00:47:50] [SPEAKER_00]: the signs of the times
[00:47:52] [SPEAKER_00]: and again a falling away
[00:47:55] [SPEAKER_00]: apostasy
[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_00]: not just in society
[00:47:57] [SPEAKER_00]: but also in the church and so when you start to see
[00:48:00] [SPEAKER_00]: these things
[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_00]: you should know that Jesus Christ
[00:48:04] [SPEAKER_00]: is soon to come
[00:48:06] [SPEAKER_00]: he's about to return
[00:48:07] [SPEAKER_00]: so these are some very powerful
[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_00]: powerful
[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_00]: indicators where we are
[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_00]: in the history of this world and there's no question

[00:48:30] [SPEAKER_04]: just give you a practical illustration

[00:48:42] [SPEAKER_04]: and the person that
[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_04]: organiser gathering
[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_04]: the person who's just being disobedient
[00:48:48] [SPEAKER_04]: to their parents not caring about their wishes
[00:48:50] [SPEAKER_04]: or what they should do
[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_04]: and those who knew
[00:48:54] [SPEAKER_04]: the word of God
[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_04]: those who were principled refused
[00:48:57] [SPEAKER_04]: to attend because they knew
[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_04]: that anyone that's claiming to be a Christian
[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_04]: but disobedient to their parents
[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_04]: then they should really not
[00:49:06] [SPEAKER_04]: seek to do anything in the name of Christ
[00:49:08] [SPEAKER_04]: unless there's unity in the family
[00:49:10] [SPEAKER_04]: you see
[00:49:11] [SPEAKER_04]: and the occasion was a flop
[00:49:13] [SPEAKER_04]: God's blessing wasn't there
[00:49:16] [SPEAKER_04]: you see
[00:49:16] [SPEAKER_04]: and so as soon as you read that
[00:49:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Elder Ricardo that's what first came to my mind

[00:49:25] [SPEAKER_04]: what I'm talking about, who know about the occasion

[00:49:29] [SPEAKER_04]: God's word doesn't lie
[00:49:31] [SPEAKER_04]: the law is not going to bless
[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_04]: the family with unity and love

[00:49:41] [SPEAKER_04]: that fifth commandment is the fifth commandment

[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_04]: we must encourage them
[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_04]: to afford in line with what the Bible states
[00:50:20] [SPEAKER_04]: and respect the wishes of their parents
[00:50:22] [SPEAKER_04]: then we can support them
[00:50:25] [SPEAKER_04]: any action that they're going to make
[00:50:27] [SPEAKER_04]: so

[00:54:27] [SPEAKER_00]: reminds us that
[00:54:30] [SPEAKER_00]: we are
[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_00]: at a
[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_00]: point where we
[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_00]: really need to seriously take
[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_00]: a reflection of who we are
[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_00]: we claim
[00:54:42] [SPEAKER_00]: if we claim to be a Christian
[00:54:45] [SPEAKER_00]: then of course we need to
[00:54:48] [SPEAKER_00]: take up
[00:54:49] [SPEAKER_00]: that
[00:54:51] [SPEAKER_00]: claim very seriously
[00:54:53] [SPEAKER_00]: and reflect and do an examination
[00:54:55] [SPEAKER_00]: of our lives
[00:54:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that when you look at what
[00:54:59] [SPEAKER_00]: we read from Thessalonians
[00:55:00] [SPEAKER_00]: and from Timothy and so forth
[00:55:03] [SPEAKER_00]: the Bible makes it clear
[00:55:05] [SPEAKER_00]: the evidence
[00:55:07] [SPEAKER_00]: is overwhelming
[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_00]: all that Paul
[00:55:11] [SPEAKER_00]: has spoke of
[00:55:13] [SPEAKER_00]: not just but Paul
[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_00]: but Jesus and Peter
[00:55:16] [SPEAKER_00]: and James and John and so forth
[00:55:18] [SPEAKER_00]: and the prophets of old
[00:55:20] [SPEAKER_00]: have all talked about our day
[00:55:23] [SPEAKER_00]: and they've indicated very clearly
[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_00]: what is to be
[00:55:27] [SPEAKER_00]: and again as I go back
[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_00]: and I can't help but think that
[00:55:30] [SPEAKER_00]: when you look at all of these things
[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_00]: surely we come to the conclusion
[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_00]: that we have arrived
[00:55:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean Jesus Christ is about to return
[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_00]: now I want to make it clear
[00:55:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not in any way
[00:55:42] [SPEAKER_00]: going to place a date
[00:55:44] [SPEAKER_00]: or how long it will be
[00:55:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't believe that's biblical at all
[00:55:49] [SPEAKER_00]: we are told constantly
[00:55:51] [SPEAKER_00]: to watch and pray
[00:55:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus will come unexpectedly
[00:55:54] [SPEAKER_00]: to those who are not watching
[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_00]: so we don't know the day or the hour
[00:55:58] [SPEAKER_00]: however
[00:55:59] [SPEAKER_00]: we do know the season
[00:56:01] [SPEAKER_00]: and we are at the time
[00:56:04] [SPEAKER_00]: where Christ is standing at the door
[00:56:06] [SPEAKER_00]: knocking
[00:56:06] [SPEAKER_00]: and I want to invite all our listeners
